I had a trip to the local GP surgery today for an examination, and I thought I'd run through the process at our surgery.
All appointments are done over the phone. You're only allowed in the surgery if you've been asked to come in by the doctor.
1. Rung the buzzer, door answered by receptionist in full-face mask and gloves.
2. Was sat down in an isolated area, and given a face-mask and gloves.
3. Was shown to an examination room (in lime green), where I waited for the doctor.
4. Doctor came in in full PPE: mask, gloves, apron.
5. Anytime any of the staff interacted with me, gloves remained on, but were removed and binned when finished, hands washed, and new gloves on.
6. I was escorted to the exit to ensure I didn't touch anything myself, having binned my gloves.
Overall, I came away very impressed with how they are dealing with the situation. And also realise that their glasses must mist-up all day!

Not for you the hum-POW-POW-POW- lurch hum-POW-POW-POW- of the MRI. I hope they don't do the charming little trick of removing the contrast bottle from the lead into the cannula leaving the spigot in the open position ... Wrote off all my clothes as my blood soaked into the trolley padding and turned it vermillion. It really does always happen to me! |

For the glasses misting up problem I had this YouTube life hack in my recommendations. It's basically a folded tissue at the top of the mask, but I haven't tried it yet myself

Ta! Paintballers wipe a soapy solution over their goggles and glasses to form a barrier. Might try that too. |

I just watched s1 e1 of Budgie, a 70's series starring Adam Faith and Iain Cuthbertson.
Haven't seen it for years and had forgotten how good it is. Have set up a series link.
4 stars.

Hello I just watched s1 e1 of Budgie, a 70's series starring Adam Faith and Iain Cuthbertson. Haven't seen it for years and had forgotten how good it is. Have set up a series link. 4 stars. I remember enjoying that, I assume some of it hasn't worn well. The best of the those type of "gritty" stuff was "Callan", loved that. |
