For some reason every out Rangers fan I have ever met has been absolutely charmless. No idea why.
It might be a statistical anomaly. I do not know.

Redd is also visiting today but has only one genuine piece that I have already secured.
If you fancy either a fake da Vinci or one of two fake Vermeers then be my guest.
However, he's also got a cool throwback skull radio on offer. I've also done my shopping at the Nooklings so there's a silver upright vacuum and a red exercise bike up for grabs.
Also help yourself to the recipes lying around at the stall near the airport.

Since Sergey and the lads have decided to break my balls in my quest for convenient home entertainment, I am researching the NAS market. I'm sure someone here said they had one. Any useful consumer tips? Inexpensive would be nice but top priority is whether it can be easily operated by an idiot.

Depends what you want.
A simple Western Digital my book NAS is pretty effective.
You need some software to run the music. I use Twonky. And JRiver

I use a dedicated Marantz streamer. I also have a Pioneer one, but I don't use that so much.
You can play through a pc though and/or send it to speakers

Depends on the WD model. They borked some of them.
The Synology ones are nice and user friendly. Qnap have a steep learning curve.
I'm currently rocking a rpi4 with open media vault and an external drive plugged in.

I'd definitely recommend the NAS/Streamer. There's absolutely shit loads of things you can mess around with for endless hours of fun. I'm copying stuff from one drive to another. You don't even have to listen to music if you do it properly.
I have a 4 Bay Synology HD as well as more WD drives than is plausible. I also have a very large collection of concert bootlegs. Probably more than a lifetime's supply

You absolutely need to be careful how you record stuff.
Alphabetically by artist Each album/single in a separate folder. No The at the start of names. Unless it is The The obviously.
Select by folder, not by album. Otherwise you can't find anything after a while. And some programs try to merge all Greatest Hits albums together.
Basically if you can't find stuff easily you can't listen to it.

The most important thing is the music.
If* you have terrible taste your music will still sound awful no matter how it is delivered to the speakers.

Rolling where/how do you want to listen to the music?
There may be other/cheaper solutions. Did you look at iTunes match?
{Edit}Just remembered you bought a Sonos.

Thanks chaps. Not keen on iTunes, crank, having had some difficulties with it in the past - everything else i have is android/windows anyway.
I am sold on the idea of FLACs stored locally, streaming to Sonos. Like sheep, I have quite a lot of concerts and suchlike which you don't get on the streaming services. Then I was thinking, well if I am going to use it for music, might as well back up family photos and so forth on it as well.
Since the family summer holiday is cancelled, I need to spend the money quick before my wife buys something sensible with it.

The Synology ones have apps you can install. They sync with the cloud etc and so would download all the stuff you've already ripped. They can also backup to AWS glacier for really cheap cloud backup.
Sheep can tell you more though as he actually has one.

The Synology One is ace. Really clever. Does things. Clever things. Intelligent things . I downloaded a load of things for it. Then I forgot my user name. I knew the password fine Took ages to get back in to it.
I just use it as a dumb server for music.
I would buy it extra HDs but the Ironwolf shot up from £200-£300 and has remained there. Bloody Brexit.

On the plus side if I wanted it to do things (and knew how to tell it to do them) it would do them.

I've got an Ironwolf Kinglord Beast Slayer of the Abyss with +5 RealMedia streaming and poison, I use it to play my rm files over the telephone.
Perhaps a metaphor for.. Good morning!
Games - no TV - no
Its not really a good morning, I feel like I'm hungover but I didn't drink a thing yesterday and went to bed early. This country.

I had loads of beer while playing Fortnite increasingly badly and went to bed very late. And I feel pretty good today. I don't know if there is a lesson to be learned there.

Good afternoon all.
The blood test came back and showed a marked improvement in inflammatory cells: it was up at 37 in A&E, when it should be at 5. Today's result was 13.
So no surgery. They've discharged me, and I'm to continue with the antibiotics.
Now I'm back home, and again in front of Skyrim.
