Chumbles! Tent Hen! Sleepless in the Chat!
That is exactly what I have always imagined Tent Hen looks like, to a T. Though, conversely, I will admit I'd never imagined Chumbles having such long flowing blonde hair.

Morning all. How are tricks?
Gamesblog: some games on the Amiga, some very mediocre ones in fact. I then moved into Super Stardust, which is great, but for some reason was glitching like crazy. Something to investigate.
TVblog: Chef and My Fridge. Then Community.

Morning!
Ganes? Couple of games of Apex. I do still like me a bit of Apex on occasion. Gameplay is very satisfying and you have a reasonable chance of doing well in most games if you don't get dead weight teammates like me.
Telly? Blacklist. It is very watchable apart from the scenes of graphic murder and torture every 10 minutes. Might start s3 of the Sinner soon instead.
Ottm? Finally cancelled our holiday, which was to have been a week in Devon and a week in Cornwall. Fortunately, they allowed us to book for the year after with the same deposits. Now I just need to mendaciously cost the notional savings in a way that fools even myself, so I can spend them on stuff that I don;t really need (viz a NAS and a new bike).

For the first time since I don’t know when, I forgot about Apples keynote at WWDC - so last night I spent it watching the video, watching the reaction videos.
Finally, in switching away from intel, no one will ever be able to emulate Windows on a Mac again.
Be pure. Be vigilant. Ooh Behave. (The last word said in Kenneth Williams voice)

Aren't there ARM surface devices that run Windows? Dunno if you can buy a licence though without being an oem.
--- Dear redacted, Thanks for your application to join the library as an e-member. I already took the time on Monday to join you and then emailed you back with the details.
Didn't you get that email? Or are you off your fucking chump?
Love Crank.

Morning.
Tv - White Lines, getting closer to finding out whodunnit. Watching a show set on a sunny Mediterranean island might have been the wrong idea whilst stuck in lockdown, but the music’s pretty good.
Games - AC Odd, met Hippo Crates, and took down another cultist, I’m now in Korinthia. Playing a game set on sunny Mediterranean islands might have been the wrong idea whilst stuck in lockdown, but the fighting’s pretty good.

Scottish libraries are not how I imagined. Were the guidelines written by Irvine Welsh?

Good morning.
Games: The Black Flag. Now doing some bothersome underwater shite with Diving Bells. Still, some good strangles have been committed as well as some kicking dudes off high structures.
TVblog: Who Wants to be a Cocky Cunt and lose £32,000 on a question you clearly didn't know the answer to?
OTTM: Plymouth shopping looms large on the horizon.
RIP Potato the Clown.

A former colleague who moved back to Canada has been doing 'virtual escape rooms' for her library. Online versions of those adventure books where you get to a page and decide what to do and turn to page 27 etc. Really good stuff.

I mean I know she's a really clever, positive person with great ideas and all that but I prefer the boozehound calling folks cunts method. Horses for courses and all that. Why the long face crank?

crankcallerIt sounds like your colleague has invented the text adventure video game. I know she didn't invent it - I remember the Hobbit game on the spectrum - and yes I'm aware of mainframe/bulletin board versions long before that... But utilising it to engage with teen library members was quite good I thought. Anyway. Back to the swearing.

Morning,
My furlough privileges have been well and truly revoked, so I'll be two days in the office and three from home every week for the foreseeable.
Furlough review:
Games - A shit ton of animal crossing. 12 million bells in the bank, over 300 hours spent and I still can't find a black leather armchair. Maybe there aren't any? The game's not supposed to have an ending but when one of my islanders said "Hey Big Baws. How's it going, ya roaster?" I felt I'd reached it.
I went back and played through Ni No Kuni on PS3 from the start and found it a lot easier than when I used to dip in and out every 6 months. Cracking game and Drippy's voice is still funny in Japanese.
Weekly Mario Kart 8 tournaments complimented with Facetime chats helped keep me and my friends vaguely social. I thought I was getting good until some good players found their way into our room.
I was about halfway through Let's Go Eevee when the Sword and Shield expansion came out, so I'm playing that now. I've also went back to Pokemon Go to try to get myself off the couch. It's a lot better than it used to be, i.e. a reasonable number of pokestops exist outside of cities.
I've nearly finished Luigi's Mansion on Co-op. I don't like it much.
TV - I've been watching the pokemon anime in the background as there's a ridiculous number of episodes and the English is a good level for my girlfriend. It's also just fun. I've made a pretty big dent in it now. I think there's 4 or 5 seasons left...
I'll never have 11 weeks off work again. 4*. #takemeback (except the ones at the start when I was ill. Don't take me back to then.)

I very much expect Crank's libraries are all lit with that blue-to UV lighting that stops junkies finding veins very easily. It really makes you feel you are in a high class area when you realise the lighting is designed to make injecting drugs difficult
I first saw it in a toilet in McDonalds in Rome in the mid 1990s. It has not caught on much in the UK
