I have not had any caffeine since May 31st. Alcohol only? I can respect that.

I did sort of quit coffee on holiday once, but I replaced it with red bull vodkas so my caffeine intake actually increased.

Lots of middle aged bald guys out driving convertibles today. I hope I am more original with my mid-life crisis.

Genuine question: How do non-coffee drinkers deal with the morning caffeine deficit?
Do you just shout and grump at people all day? I could get with that programme, but I do need a coffee first.

I drink decaf and pretend it's a proper drink. I then spend the rest of the day in a bad mood because I want coffee.

I don't usually drink coffee, too much caffeine, just a flagon of Rod Hull and maybe a Rockstar energy for me. But during lockdown there's been a bit of a Rod Hull drought so I've been drinking coffee bags. Leaves a lovely brown sludge at the bottom of the cup. TB
Games - Brigandine battle for Runeseria is out on Switch today! Its only the game that Fire Emblem Three Houses could have been. TB.

As my peptic ulcer is close to a flare and I don't want to get A&E, I can't drink tea or caffeine because they have tannic acid - so I have to drink water ... 3-4 litres. And you wonder why I am such an irritable bastard... Made worse by the heat and the fact that Amazon have split my deliveries yet a.bloody.gain. The 5 items that I ordered Sunday / Saturday are due 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM, but the other item I ordered 3 weeks ago hasn't even left the Luton depot. I'm annoyed but that poor devil has got to deliver in the hottest part of the day ... Edit 12.10, second delivery = Estimated arrival 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM 32c in here (channeling my inner BabyfarkmcGeezak ), from the forecast it will get into the high 30s in my cell...

Coffee grinder chat. We have got a Sage one. It is very good. A Sage smart grinder pro paired with a Gaggia Classic is a combination that makes an enjoyable brew. Coffee bean chat Do you get them from a specialist retailer or the supermarket? I've started using supermarket ones recently but I have to add milk to mask the taste. tenthenemyI've had an outgoing best friend request to you for ages. I deleted it and sent another since I don't have any from you.

tenthenemy I've had an outgoing best friend request to you for ages. I deleted it and sent another since I don't have any from you. Not sure what happened there, all that time you were just showing up as 'pending'. Finally fixed now, I've found and accepted the request just now.

Afternoon all.
Gamesblog: Skyrim. I sacked-off a den of vampires, and went exploring a nearby draugr ruin instead. It was a 50/50 mix of bandits and draugr, and my accurate ice-spike chucking made short work of all and sundry. Destruction at 64 now! The only trouble are the area-effect ones... fireball is great, but generally not when a follower has run into the melee...
TVblog: Five minutes of Newsnight.
Workblog: after however-many-weeks-of-lockdown, I finally connecting my laptop to a monitor. Brighter! Sharper! And at the correct height! Shame it's 4:3 though - so used to working in widescreen with Windows.

Amipal,
Friendly fire is always a problem. Even in melee a follower can get into the middle of things.
Fireball always used to cause me lots of problems. Same with lightning. I found ice spikes easier to dodge though.

Coffee beans: I get mine from M and S because I am not a barbarian.
Also sometimes from Braithwaites in Dundee, if either of those things still exist.

Is this the right time to bring up the terrible hot beverage culture war between the UK and the US? www.theguardian.com/food/2020/jun/24/us-woman-sparks-transatlantic-tea-war-with-brutal-online-brewI had already watched the original offensive "making British tea" video through my fingers, but I have to say that US Ambassador Woody Johnson's demonstration on how to make an "American" cup of coffee was a calculated insult to coffee drinkers all over the world. I love coffee but it drives my blood pressure up, so I mostly slum it with decaf. Caffeine never had much effect on me so I don't experience the morning caffeine deficit. I just like the taste of proper coffee. Pref. Mam. is a tea drinker, who only drinks coffee when he's on holiday. He's very picky about his tea and only likes it the way I make it (with a sufficiency of tea, brewed for long enough but not too long). In restaurants, tea shops and cafes he is easy to spot as the one kvetching about the tea.
