Morning all.
What's everyone having for breakfast?
P5R. Just finished the pyramid dungeon. Starting to click a bit more now. Also, the end of battle music is good enough to rival Final Fantasy's.

Hi.
Breakfast chat: bagel and jam.
Bin chat: I was still shaking my head in disbelief at the wrong-headedness of last night's bin chat when I heard the lorry going past outside. By the time I had sprinted out there in my bare feet, they were up the road. 4 weeks till the next paper/cardboard collection.
4 stars.

1 slice wholemeal toast. Crunchy PB & banana. 1 slice wholemeal toast. Butter & raspberry jam. 1 coffee. 1 grimace at work emails
It's our blue bin for paper/card this week as well.
TV. The Americans. Enjoying it a lot but they're really making the Russians look like the evil empire.
Games. Fallout 76 wouldn't start. Needed to move the ini file again so sacked it off in favour of the Tomb Raider I got in the Steam sale.

Morning all!
Recycling goes in the clear plastic bags and gets left out on the pavement, if you live in a high class development with a two letter postcode in London. How else can the foxes fling it all over the road?
Video games - In high spirits after last night's meat entertainment. TB.
OTTM - No

Fox chat!
We saw a pair of the local foxes last week and one had something in its mouth. Weren't sure what...
Till the child was over at the neighbours yesterday to look at the guinea pigs they're keeping in the garden in a cage.
Apparently one is missing.

I've had to come back on site to use a specific system that cant be accessed remotely. IT have fucked that system over the weekend and it cant be used until 3PM at the earliest. This aggression will not stand. So I'm fucking off home at lunch time, fuck this noise.

Endless Football
I enjoyed Saturday. Sunday very much less so.
Blues are properly appalling. Really terrible. Really really terrible.
It is amazing there are so many teams below us.
I would very much like to be at games shouting at our players. I think they would find it motivational to have a large group of angry Brummies threatening them in person.
It has worked well in the past.
Also it would be a good outlet for me to release inner tensions (mostly caused by fury over football).

Bowl of Shreddies, banana.
Three hours of Hollow Knight last night. I like it a lot, have been told that it can get quite difficult further down the line, though.
No time for anything but ACNH anyway. I need to invest my Bells in infrastructure but I'm not getting enough time.
Still no sign of a single cicada shell. This is really getting me down.

A couple of the lads in IT sorted me out remote access to my desktop machine - saving me going in as from there I can get to stuff on the network they can't provide remotely.
But I got an email on Fri saying I need to start going in on Thursdays from this week. Will be in on Thursday but luckily I'm on leave the following two.
Trying to source one of those canes with a sword in it for the trains.

Books
Journal Of The Plague Year - ideal lockdown reading Four stars
Lotharingia Simon Winder It's about the bits of Europe between France and Germany. A not entirely dull cross between a travelogue and a history book. A bit long is all. I'd have preferred 300 page book to a 500 page book
The Phantom Atlas Edward Brook Hitching It's about mistakes and false claims on maps Non-existent cities and islands. Lots of nice maps. It is a coffee table book. One to look good. It looks good. I am enjoying it.

Cousins crankcaller and Pyjakson! I have been blessed with a Redd visit today and he has two genuine articles, namely the Basic Painting (Gainsborough) and the Informative Statue (Rosetta Stone). I have neither and am not fussed about which to buy. Got to go now but will keep gates open for you later on to drop by if you are interested. First come, first served, obvs. Hurry, hurry while cousin discount lasts. Btw, the fakes are the Scary Painting and the Beautiful Statue/Venus de Milo, in case you are collecting those.

Games: some Fortnite Duos last night, with some second places, but no wins.
I'm doing the crossword in the local Minor Injuries Unit at the moment. It's harder than the Guardian cryptic on a Monday usually is. Monday is usually the easiest day and they get harder throughout the week.
I managed to eat a slice of bread and butter before leaving the house.
OTTM: nothing to report.
Edit: oh, yeah, a child with a hurt wrist and a low pain threshold. It looks quite large, so I guess it's probably the 12y-o who is not mine rather than the 6y-o who is not mine.

Books Lotharingia Simon Winder It's about the bits of Europe between France and Germany. i.e. Belgium? I have just finished a book called Priam's Gold by Caroline Moorhead. It was an account of the hunt for the site of ancient Troy in the 19th century. Quite interesting, and contains a couple of maps. Now reading Secret State by Luke Harding, which is about how Putin wants to fuck us up, and has basically already done it.

Hello
Games: None
Books: Started reading my box set of Ian Fleming's Bond books.
Finished Casino Royale and have just started Live and Let Die. Although I'm aware they were written in the early 50's (both books are older than I am) the casual racism and sexism do jar a bit.
Also Bond's sixty a day cigarette habit and chronic alcohol consumption doesn't fit well with his fighting fit he man image.
