The pub to the south of the level crossing is ok, they even have a games night. Pub on the north side however.. Must have changed. But then Greater-Brighton-area pubs tend to do that.

I have been to Brighton. Unless you live in sarf London it takes an incredibly long time to get there and is not worth it when you arrive (I suspect this bit applies even if you live in Sarf London). I take it you're not one of those out-of-town visitors who just want to go to the beach to leave plastic cups, disposable barbecues, and shit behind when you head back up North Street for the last train home?

I went to the football. I have also been on a stag night in Brighton. I did not leave a trail of destruction. It pretty much looked like that before I got there.
That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I have been to Brighton. Unless you live in sarf London it takes an incredibly long time to get there and is not worth it when you arrive (I suspect this bit applies even if you live in Sarf London). Crystal Palace (Thornton Heath) on Sea Four stars. Recommended If you live in Norf Lunnon*, Saarf Lunnon's got a weird rail system where the trains wander about all over stopping where they fancy. Never where you're going "Nah, mate, you shoulda got the 6:22 a.m. stopper if you wanted to go there. The 9.43 a.m semi-express only stops at 3 places, except on a Sunday when it don't run. You'd be better catching the 8.22 a.m from Waterloo East, changing at the Elephant and Tulse Hill..." Trains Saarf of the Thames are a fucking nightmare. It's even worse in the Saarf Thames loops where the line splits after Lewisham when the trains aren't running to time and you miss seeing the train header board. Instead of going to Sidcup you can end up in Erith. *But if you live in Norf Lunnon, wtf would you want to go to Saarf Lunnon?

Why do people even go to Brighton beach? It's just a load of pebbles. Skegness, now that's a beach.

I wanted to go to see my team at Palace. I once got a train to Selhurst. Once The walk from Fornton'eaf was a bit longer but 1 million times nicer.
I remember when Wimbledon were lodgers going there twice a season. We always lost to Wimbledon. And usually to Palace. Grim.

When I lived in Sarf Lahndahn my house-mates and I hired a car and took a drive to some beach on the south coast one summer's day. Rye beach perhaps? Camber? Anyway, it took 2 hours to get there and it was all stones and that. Plus I didn't really like my housemates. 4 stars.

Camber Sands are generally considered to be sandy, so it might not have been there.
Edit: I think maybe that should be "Camber Sands is generally considered to be sandy, so it might not have been there."

I've started a weeks free trial of Marvel Unlimited I'm not convinced that is sufficient time to read all 27,000* books though. Of course I've started re-reading Doctor Strange. *approximately

I used to love the Southend day trips, the Kursaal was open, bowling alley at the end of the pier*, arcades and good fish and chips. *along with train ride there.

Did you go to TOTS? The only night I have been out in Southend we went to TOTS. An amazing place.
We left the taxi queue after the 3rd scuffle.
