Hello.
This weekend:
I watched The Cloverfield Paradox. It was ok. You know, fine. Not good but not the trash-fire the reviews suggest.
I played sci-fi Souls rip-off The Surge. I was enjoying it until the first boss which instantly reminded me why I don't like Souls games. The bosses are just irritating breaks in the gameplay.
I did other things that are none of your concern.

Monday.
Games: Shadow of the Colossus. One of the best looking games I've ever seen. The horse is even more of a pain to ride than the one in Witcher 3 though.
TV: first couple of episodes of American Gods. Style over substance, which is a shame considering how good the book is.
Other: Natural History museum. On a weekend. Over half-term. There were a number of other people there.

The electrics at work went over the weekend and the heating has only just been put on. It is 12c at my desk.
Played some more Fortnite (I dream of playing it in my sleep now) and I need to put some kind of last minute action plan together for Valentine's Day.
Watched some more Altered Carbon, would give it 7/10 six episodes in.
Oxfam eh? Bunch of whoring reprobates.

Thanks for reminding me to get a card.
I got Mrs Crank tickets at Xmas for a gig this Saturday coming. Realised at the time it would be a double whammy Xmas/valentine's night out. Perhaps the only bit of forward planning I've ever done.
Films. The snowman. Michael Fassbender is a tad ripped for a guy who's meant to be a Jake. Anyway. Was ok. Norway looks chilly.
Games. Bit of GTA. Some guy in a tank being a dick killing everyone. There were 7 folk in the lobby. I goaded him into exiting said tank and walking over a proximity mine. Possibly my finest hour.

This weekend I discovered that there was a Greek grammarian called Conon. I lost it for around 5 minutes.
Oxfam: on a tangent there's a huge issue in general financial abuse relating to some charities in Africa. No-one will touch it though for obvious reasons, or will they now?
Gaming: more Skyrim, getting the daedric artefact trophy ain't easy. Particularly the place with all the red ninroot.

My inexperience with whores laid bare for all to see. My first ever paid employment was over the summer in a theatre in Glasgow when I was 18. I used to go for the last train every night and had to walk by the row of prostitutes as it was the quickest route. As it was every night some of them would say hello as I sheepishly marched by head down. |

My digs during the second year at uni were off Brook Hill in Sheffield, which then was the red light district. We didn't realise until the sun went down on our first day there. Every time you walked past them you would get a "do you want any business love?" from a raspy voiced hooker. The pimp in charge actually broke up a fight between our floor of the house and the guys upstairs, I guess it was in his favour to keep things peaceful.

Watched some of netflix’s unexpurgated adult breast show this weekend. Seems ok, the whole AI hotel thing seemed like a major contrivance though.
Also smashed up the flappy poison man to make a better sword to smash the hairy electric man to make an electric long sword that I could upgrade to an ice long sword after smashing up the ice wizard. Lovely stuff.
Been playing dragon quest builders on the switch too, I think I finally understand why people like minecraft now.

Forgot to mention the ice sword was to smash up the burrowing sand bastard, who was actually quite hard. I think I need some better armour. The circle of monster hunter begins again.

Morning!
MHW still holds my attention so I smashed quite a bit over the weekend. Farmed the bombing roly poly guy for a bit in order to craft some electricity resistant gear. He was a bit of a twat, especially in his 'room', but I prevailed and now parade his entrails proudly. It's a bit shocking* how few electricity resist armour sets there are, especially considering the 6 or 7 fire resist sets. Also crafted a Switch Axe from Nergigante's body parts which, when coupled with the aforementioned armour, was used to smash the two Kirin challenge. It was easier than expected. Who would've thought preparation helps?
*Shit pun, not sorry.

Last night I watched another episode of Mindhunter, the one that played The Boomtown Rats' "I Don't Like Mondays" over the credits. How appropriate on so many levels, I thought.
As reported, over the weekend I acquired the motorcycle in Zelda and turned the whole game into "Exhaust Fumes of the Wild". There's now a lot of roadkill all over Hyrule. You can fuel it with anything; not sure whether some materials give a better performance, need to experiment. For now it's running on a mixture of mushrooms and chu jelly.
This puts me at a crossroad: I'm mostly done with the game (after around 500 hours) and I need to decide what game of my very large backlog I want to play next. The plan was Skyrim - for the first time - but the week is looking a bit more hectic than usual and not great for another game that sucks me in for hours. I might start something smaller as a palate cleanser after an enormous open world game before I start another enormous open world game.
I also watched a Spacehamster YouTube video on bootleg Lord of the Rings games. Entertaining.
I really don't like Mondays.

I spent all last week coughing and sneezing. I am still coughing, but am now able to blow my nose rather than sneeze. While welcome I feel quite strongly that this is not sufficient improvement.
I was well enough to attend local police parade yesterday. It was very impressive. Certainly better than the impromptu kick about.
