What's the biggest bat you've ever seen?
I was on holiday two weeks ago. I was in Greece - on an island - and I swear - I saw a bat the size of a crow.

This bat ...
It was like a bat from a Hammer Horror film. Like a bit rubber bat dangling on elastic, but then it flapped off into the night.

I have not seen any massive bats, but my parents have dozens or perhaps hundreds living in the eaves of their house. Every evening you hear them (the bats) scratching themselves awake, then they fly off in a procession that lasts about an hour.
My parents are vampires, aren;t they?

New XBoxes are cheaper than I thought $249 without discdrive, $399 with. I might be a 2 console (in the same gen) nerd for the first time.

My parents always have bats flying about outside their house after night falls. During ... the gloaming. I don't know if the bats live in the house.
They do have a wasps nest - located in the dormer window of the room I sleep in when I go and stay. I didn't know this until last month. It was 2am and I heard a purring sound, as if there were a stealthy panther outside the bedroom window. I could not locate the source but then I looked up 'purring sound at night' the next morning and the internet said it was wasps - whirring their wings in unison to cool the nest down. I'm not happy if I'm honest.

Hello! I’m not reading all that. Tony hawks last nights. Loving this. Got to level 10 & starting to unlock cool stuff & it’s all coming back. I’m in. Also there is a workman by my flat whistling ‘wind of change’ absolutely wonderfully. They have talent.

Cousins! Today Redd is visiting my island and has two genuine pieces of art on offer. If you happen to be around later when I'm online then swing by if you are interested in a genuine Scary Painting (which I already have thanks to Pyjakson's generosity). In all respects I'm having an extremely lucky item day, with all three specials at Nook's Cranny things that I haven't seen before. So, how about the XBox console price that leaked out? I don't want to start a console war yet again, but I feel that Sony has currently fallen victim to ye olde hubris just like MS at the beginning of the current generation (what with testing people's fanboy/girl/thing credentials before they graciously allow them to pre-order a PS5) and that this is an attractive price that they might find hard to match.* In other news, no new Tintin books today, but Pref. Mam. was able to confirm that the Arabic writing on the Land of Black Gold cover spells out "Black Gold" and isn't just decorative. (I can only recognise letters but not read it very well, and there's no hope if it's unvocalised.) Lunch: Cheese and onion quiche. *Edit: I hadn't seen that sandybahookie already got the ball rolling and would apologise if I hadn't been advised against it.

Bat chat - my parents often have bats fly into their bedroom during the summer when they leave the windows open at night. They then have to chase them around the bedroom trying to usher them back out into the night. Top banana.
How about the Xbox One X Series S or whatever the flip its called? 249 bananas for the new xbox isn't a bad deal. I do find the whole situation fairly confusing though. As far as I can tell its nearly as good as the Xbox One X Series X which is the new console, and should play all the games, but it won't do full fat 4K.*
Games - feeling too moribund to play games last night.
Oasthouse - Top banana. Started off a bit weak but its vintage partridge.
*Edit: I hadn't seen that Tenthen had been beaten by sandy balls or that sandy balls had beaten me. No apologies. Also sandy balls got key details wrong - its $299 and $499 and the difference isn't just the disk drive.

I stopped playing Animal Crossing after I upgraded my house and they gave me a Mock Tudor monstrosity.
No thanks. Not for me.

£249 for the S is pretty good.
I would definitely consider it as a second console. Particularly when it comes down below £200.Or in January. Whatevs
A footstool for the PS5.

I've been out, and, upon my return, find that a 'random' dude has dropped off a replacement plant pot and plant. He specifically asked for Mr Tids.
Moral of the story? Don't go nicking stuff from courtyards, 'cos at some point it might be mine and when you find this out you will.. (conts for 94 pages)
Headphone news: I dun naff all.

Headphones Chat! I have a pair of wired Sennheiser that are good but ageing. They are also mostly used by a 6 y-o who isn't mine, who almost certainly doesn't appreciate the excellent audio quality.
I mostly use a pair that technically might belong to a 12 y-o who isn't mine, as they have a mic, and the pair I bought for Fortnite with a mic developed a hiss on the output audio. It wasn't a problem for me, but Sheeps moaned like fuck about it.
I also use a pair of blue-tooth over ear noise cancelling Sony headphones. They're ok. Useful for when I don't really want to hear other people, and for looking like a dick on Zooms. The noise cancelling isn't the best, but it's good enough for me.

I stopped playing Animal Crossing after I upgraded my house and they gave me a Mock Tudor monstrosity. No thanks. Not for me. You know you can change that, right? For free even, once you've handed over enough money to Tom Nook. I'm also slightly taken aback as my own real house could be described as a half-arsed attempt at Mock Tudor, or as I like to call it, Mock Mock Tudor.

I know you can change the roof colour, but ... I'd like a sort of 1970s French Riviera look.
