My knowledge of contemporary Hong Kong has been validated by the latest Guardian quiz. 11/11 I also got full marks, but I bet you don't even know half of the words to "Glory to Hong Kong".

Gore Vidal Is his narratives of Empire series worth reading? I enjoyed Julian and Creation, but I am not sure I want to commit to a long series.

Morning, Games: Little bit of RL, victory count must be well into 56000 games won now.
Also downloaded a game 'among us' to my phone, think its a PC game type thing. Ive not played it yet but it gets good reviews, saw it on Limmys twitter. something about preparing a spaceship for launch, 8 players, one of us is an imposter. Might be a good chatterbox game to try. I'll report back in once Ive tried it. Tv: Up to date on The Boys, love sausage was funny. Also up to date on raised by wolves, not sure if im still enjoying that much, it needs to get a bit more interesting fast.

It's God Save the Queen, isn't it? But it all seriousness, I'm always a bit conflicted in sharing or commenting on Hong Kong articles these days. We've got family over there, and though I'm not a political activist, nor have any business dealings, I'm very suspect about how far those dark tendrils reach.

Oooh 6,000! ( Chumbles Err... 6001, actually) Here are some random lists of things I like in no particular order or completeness: ( Chumbles : to save me doing anything sensible while the heavy duty descaler works on the bog, in bold are the surprisingly large number of things I agree, or in italics in part, and struck out if not seen - my comments with 👴) TVBuffy the Vampire SlayerMashBlake’s 7 (👴oooh Servalan...)Doctor Who (all series) (👴Not Sylvester, or any other Mc - most wished for Dr was David Morrissey who I prayed would get the role)Monty PythonDS9Killing Eve Gilmore Girls SpacedFilmsAnnie Hall Empire Strikes Back and The Last Jedi (👴AND Star Wars)Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 (👴I mostly don't watch remakes) Godfather P1 & 2 The Big Sleep Citizen Kane
Scott Pilgrim vs. the WorldSerenity (👴and why isn't Firefly in the TV section, pray tell)West Side Story Sweet CharityCabaretMusicKate BushDevo (👴I much prefer Dido) Doctor Feelgood GenesisGirls Aloud (👴if I had to pick an all girl band, Spice Girls, with Mel C whose voice is stunning, or Exit Eden) Taylor Swift (👴really? if you're going to go female pop, gotta be Katy Perry and Shania Twain) Graham Parker and the Rumour (👴although Elvis Costello for preference ) Joan Armatrading Yes
Judy Garland Dave Brubeck Benny Goodman
The Clash AuthorsJack L Chalker Terry Pratchett Iain M Banks Tom Holt Gore VidalGeorge Orwell (👴pedantic moralising prick) Julian May Steven Erikson (👴especially House of Chains, which had me in tears) China MiévilleDouglas AdamsNeal AsherPeter F Hamilton(👴AND J R R Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Robert Anson Heinlein pre Stranger in a fucked up Land and the goddesses of aliens and the recomplicated plot, Ursula K LeGuin and C J Cherryh (I've read the Chanur series and the early Foreigner sequence over a dozen times AND listened to the audiobooks of them) 👴 Time to clean the bog and environs

Chumbles I had to stop somewhere, The Spice Girls, KP, Elvis Costello, Firefly, Tolkein and Asimov would all be in there on another day. I've read a lot of Heinlein and I still can't decide if I like him or not, I should have added Harry Harrison if we're going old skool. By your definition GO would fit in here perfectly. <edit>Blade Runner 2049 is a sequel and a rather good one at that. <edit><edit>also LeGuin, McCaffrey, Rowling and Diana Wynne Jones would be in there.

Fair comment; for a second KP had me wondering what Kevin Pietersen had recorded, I missed Within Temptation and Italian Artists, impressario Denis Potenza! And I guess you're right; right now there are hundreds of books and a load of TV series ( Lucifer, Angel, The Expanse, Bones, Sanctuary ... ffs Stargate Atlantis, B5, Britannia S1, House MD u.s.w.} ... I'll see if I can locate a reasonably priced audiobook of Diana Wynne Jones - I loved the film of Howl's Moving Castle, so I'll try that.)
