Oh, and the advice under the heading "Education settings" is all over the place. They are talking about how "most children originally identified as clinically extremely vulnerable no longer need to follow this advice" and tell you that your GP/clinician should make the call whether your child needs to stay away from school. After talking about those children in the 3rd person, it suddenly switches to addressing the child: "Your school will make appropriate arrangements for you to be able to continue your education at home."
Nothing about children as carriers of the virus apart from the statement that children who live with a vulnerable person should still attend school. Elsewhere the advice is "You should also try to stay 2 metres away from other people within your household".
Nothing about adult/university education. I used to tell students about two important educational principles: YOYO and FOFO. YOYO = You're On Your Own, FOFO = F*ck Off and Find Out. I'm pleased to see that our government has also taken these principles to heart, although I don't remember that Gavin Williamson was one of my students.

Hello. New car day!
The shine kinda taken off by the child having a meltdown as the old one "we'd had all her life..." Insert random sobs.
Talked her round by showing her she could control the tunes from the backseat via her iPod touch. Which meant I didn't get a proper shot at Android Auto.
Anyway. Plenty of time for that.
Games. Wee bit of Ghost Recon. TV. The Bill Murray/Rashida Jones thing on Apple TV.
Braised mince and mash for dinner. Enjoying a cheeky wee cab-sauv while I cook.

Oh, and the advice under the heading "Education settings" is all over the place. ... Nothing about children as carriers of the virus apart from the statement that children who live with a vulnerable person should still attend school. *1 Nothing about adult/university education. I used to tell students about two important educational principles: YOYO and FOFO. YOYO = You're On Your Own, FOFO = F*ck Off and Find Out. I'm pleased to see that our government has also taken these principles to heart, although I don't remember that Gavin Williamson was one of my students. I believe that NHS now = No Health Service. The letters I received can be summed up as "We're too busy dealing with preparing for the second wave to deal with your operation s - if you get covid-19, follow the advice on our 111 website (FFS: don't ring your doctor, hospital, 111 and only come to the surgery, hospital if you've been invited to. You will be told to fuck off if you try.). While you're waiting to die, take some paracetamol." The principles that they combine are FOYOYO - F*ck Off, You're On Your Own. But at least I don't have to send children off to school to collect the latest strain of Covid-19 and bring it home to wipe out the people who are looking after them. As for trusting students to do the right thing... that's a plotline that a game designer would have a lot of apocalyptic fun with. As Guy Ingersoll might say

For Cranky et al
A friend of mine from "up the road" sent me this video. Accompanied by some abuse. An oldie I think, but now the tune is stuck in my head.

TuffersPronounced locally as 'brekkers' but it wouldn't have worked if I'd left it as brekkers. Half a bottle of Merrydown Gold and a breaker was my carry out aged 14.

So either Lord of the Rings or Macbeth is going on in that tweet. I immediately thought "...Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill Shall come...". That is a worrying sight...

Traditionally sung en route from the boozer to Hampden, with a pause in the middle eight for a quick piss on crankcaller's front steps.

I'm thinking about investing some bunce in a company that makes those tartan caps/hats with the red bobble on top and synthetic ginger hair sticking out the back. Literally a goldmine. This time next year Rodders...

Although my experience of Scotland fans is that they were generally nicer than England fans. A lack of belligerence.
I was pretty disappointed they didn't wreck Vxllx Park.

The fuck did you just say pal? Scotland fans are more likely to batter each other for falling on the wrong side of the Celtic/Rangers divide than some Serbian lad.
