The graffito I saw indicated that Liverpool supporters were Roman Catholic and Everton supporters were Protestant. It may also have got a bit racial. I always thought the split was more along the lines of ... - Everton FC: People living in the north of Liverpool (and Bootle)
- Liverpool FC: People living in the south of Liverpool and the broad surrounding area. 'Woolybacks'.
I have no idea.

I'm sorry I dropped the w-bomb.
I read a story about a man being beaten up in Southport Pontins for being a 'woolyback'.

There used to be graffiti just inside the gates of Princes Park in Toxteth that proudly announced in big letters "I love school girls tits".
Always amused me wandering by at 5am. I assumed it was a cry of angst by someone who couldn't discuss that pecadillo with chums for fear of having the mark of the beast put upon them.

Don't certain London clubs affiliate themselves with either Rangers or Celtic? I have heard of Chelsea & Millwall fans associating with Rangers. Only a few fans though- the Combat 88 types - who seemed particularly attracted to Chelsea. The only club with big links to Celtic in England is Liverpool as far as I am aware. Most fans of most clubs regard it as the nonsense it is. ChumblesLondon has a problem with anti-Semitic fans at Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham & Millwall. I don't think it is a big issue elsewhere. It's more complicated and not to the same degree as sectarianism surrounding Rangers & Celtic (And to a lesser extent Hearts & Hibs). Clubs and fans in England just aren't divided Catholic/Protestant

I did not write the graffito. I once met a man near there. I was walking to a dentist and he told me that if he got a toothache then he just snapped the aching tooth off. I didn't believe him so he showed me his teeth, or what was left of them. A bad business.

I got second place on the score board on one of those measure your punch games in a pub outside Bramall Lane once. I'm not sure where I'm going with this. Blades fans are wimps? I don't think there is sectarianism in Sheffield football, most of the footy fans around here probably can't spell "God".

I know that club support in Birmingham is divided along class lines.
The salt of the earth working man supports Birmingham City. And the toffs, the snoots, the snobs all support Aston Villa.
Not sure I buy it myself.

Combat 18, or Column 88, not Combat 88. Sheep2 probably did it deliberately, knowing I would correct him, so he could accuse me of having too much knowledge of neo-nazi groups.

Hibs and Hearts are not really like Rangers and Celtic at all. Nor are Dundee and Dundee Utd, even though they had religious associations originally (Utd were originally called Dundee Hibernian). It's a west of Scotland thing - moving to Glasgow from the East when I was 18 was a real eye opener. Iirc Liverpool used to be (100 years ago) at least as sectarian as Glasgow, but the Scousers ditched it and the Weegies got right into it. Rangers were not originally a 'protestant' club - their proddy identity grew as an anti-Celtic reaction. At least part of the reason is that Glasgow and Ayrshire are very close to Northern Ireland, and there are a lot of links. The 'Troubles' gave a new lease of life to this stuff. Busloads of fans now travel across from N. Ireland for the matches every weekend. It's political too - wearing your Rangers top is often seen as an anti-SNP statement. I think the current version of sectarianism is driven by the football rather than vice versa.

Not sure I buy it myself. It's true that all the toffs support them. It's not so much that that they don't have working class support - they do it's more that we don't have any proper posh supporters No Camerons, No dukes of Cambridge. Blues support comes from the south and east of the city, WBA is to the West AVFC is mostly Bromford, Erdington round to Sutton & Kingstanding and the towns going out. They have more fans than us - but ours are better. There is no doubt about that. By better I mean better.

I'm reminded of the story about the guy who came from India and set up a chain of Curry houses in Glasgow. But when he arrived here at first he was working in the yards to begin with. He was asked in work if he was a Prod or a Tim.
"I'm a Sikh" he replied.. "Aye, but a Proddy Sikh or a Catholic Sikh?"

Sunderland and the Toon just hate each other; if there wasn't a river between them they'd have to divert one to keep them apart ... Sheep2 : I was born 3/4 mile from Highbury, both sets of grandparents lived in Stoke Newington, my parents, my brother and I were born near there, I had close friends in Tottenham and lived in Tottenham for 3 years, playing darts all over... it's still there "I know there are at least 5 or 6 of us on here from the Philly area. Is there a pub where you go to watch games? Since I got the channels I've been watching at home, but for big games it would be good to get a local spot. I've watched games in NY and Boston with the local yids, and that was a blast."www.bigsoccer.com/threads/philadelphia-area-yids.970393/

Nearly got run over by some daft bint in the car park at Lidls.
If I'd have run a book on my potential place of death you'dve got odds on for discount supermarket car park.
Mode of death as "ran over" would have got you better odds than "extra strength cider overdose"
