Thank you all for the well wishes. It's early days, we'll have to wait and see. He's got low blood pressure (which apparently is a symptom) and a low blood cell count, which is something that has happened before, but no cough and no fever. The good thing is that he's in the right place for observation and treatment, and that treatment has come a long way, but I worry what will happen if his condition worsens. We need to see whether he'll be stable tonight.

In other news I just watched an episode of Danger Man on LondonLive.
It didn't have a title so I searched Google for details. Things I learned that I didn't know:
1) Ian Fleming was brought in to collaborate on series development, but left before development was complete.
2) This was the pilot episode, written by Brian Clemens, who later co-created The Avengers.
3) Called "View from the Villa" it was set in Italy, but the production manager set the shoot on location in Portmeirion, because it looked like Italy but was much closer.
4) When the final two episodes of the series were completed, McGoohan announced he was resigning to create, produce, and star in The Prisoner, recruiting other ex Danger Man production staff, and also filming the exterior scenes in Portmeirion.
5) The Prisoner was seen by many as a sequel to Danger Man, set after the character John Drake resigned.

Start by reading this page prisoner.fandom.com/wiki/Number_6_(Patrick_McGoohan) , and I want 2,000 words on my desk by midday tomorrow entitled "John Drake, The Prisoner, and Number 1: the meta-plurality of identity" with a full bibliography and referencing. We can use that as the basis for one of the chapters in the dissertation I have in mind for you. Edit: and I don't care if it was in an episode title of Danger Man, I don't want to see that sort of bad language in your essay, or anywhere else. OTTM: I'm sorry Tent. Hope he's ok. |

@tenthen - that sucks majorly. Hospitals are covid hotspots. It would seem to make sense to inoculate all non-covid patients who are unfortunate enough to be in the same building?
