Morning!
3 is the magic number. That's basic.
After watching one of the top 5 GOAT films of all time last week, Rocky 4, I spoiled it by watching fat old Rocky in Rocky Balboa last night. Oh boy. Awful.
Also, despite the youngest not being old enough, I let them watch The Meg. They enjoyed it, but I happened to tell them about Jaws. The film that gave a young Tuffers nightmares. Now they want to watch it. However, despite it having the same age rating, I don't think I'll let them just yet. I'd say it's more like a 15. I think I watched it when I was about 8 or 9. Hence the nightmares and terrible personality.
Jim, cute fox game.
OTTM, leftover lasagne for later.

I also didn’t think Rocky Balboa was that bad, nowhere near as good as the others, but not completely awful. Unlike Rambo 4.

Jaws is currently 12 rated. I'd say it is fine for a 9 year-old. Especially if they are a bit sensitive.
Double bill with Poltergeist
They've got to grow up sometime. It might as well be while daddy is getting drunk watching 1970s/1980s films.

After that The Omen & The Exorcist (not the special edition - the proper original cut is spooky still if you watch it in the dark. The spiderwalking is pretty silly and was cut for that reason) Then zombie films, slashers and jump shockers.
If they start to get jaded Hellraiser is a good'un.

Poltergeist also gave me nightmares. I had a tree outside my bedroom window.

Scrambled egg and beans on toast. If you are getting nightmares from those you may be a tad oversensitive. You need to walk in to the light.

Hello, On average, how many arguments per day are people having with their pm about homeschooling? You can round down to the nearest 100 for ease.
Flimschat: Jaws is fine for a 9yo. They will have seen far worse online by that age. The most recent Rocky film was fine. Stupid, but enjoyable. Likewise Rambo 4. Worth watching for the violence.
No games.

Hello all.
I appear to be on a daily cycle of Twitter doom-scrolling. It’s not very healthy. And it also appears to be very American. I need to diversify.
Gamesblog: nope.
TVblog: some of that Mr Bean at 30 thing on ITV.
Filmblog: MacGruber.
Homelearningblog: no actual arguments. But a stressed partner due to Tapestry being down for much of the day.

Has she tried pretending to be a Scottish lord?

A local cycle or did you take a jolly trip to the Olympic park with your security? And you thought they couldn't do anything else to mug off the public when they may need to increase lockdown rules.

TV: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Shenguin. Superb. Gamesblog: Forza Horizon 4. I think I may be too old for it. Mind you, I made a right mess of Edinburgh last night. Willys Jeeps blocking the railway lines etc...
Homelearningblog: No kids, but I'm teaching the cat to tap dance. It's not going well.

I have a 3 year old and a 10 month old and if the nurseries shut and Mrs Fark is (in her own words) "made" to teach all day (she is a secondary school teacher) apparently I will "have to sort it out". Thus the first shot in the home schooling war has been taken. Am I'm a bloody important key worker!

There has been no mention of pretending to be a Scottish lord. Not this week, anyway.

Why do a 3 yr old and 10 m old need schooling?
Playpen. Point at telly. Turn on Ben and Holly's little kingdom. Do work.

Thus the first shot in the home schooling war has been taken. Am I'm a bloody important key worker! Both my partner and I have been designated as “key workers”, so we’d be well within our rights to send the boy to school. Thing is, we know what a cesspit of germs and disease schools are. Lockdown is supposed to limit the spread of COVID19, so I’d feel highly irresponsible sending my son in when we’re both capable to handling the home-learning shenanigans at home.

I work in a non-customer-facing role, where we work isn’t especially time sensitive. No way am I a key worker.
And my partner works for a university, and deals with post-grad students. Again, how is that key?
Crazy... [shakes head]

As a kid I remember watching Poltergeist, American Werewolf in London, Omen and The Shining. All because my mate had an older brother who went to the local video rental shop.

My dad was a cabbie, and as such got dodgy VHS copies from his cabbie mates.
Robocop at age seven is not ideal.
