I work in a non-customer-facing role, where we work isn’t especially time sensitive. No way am I a key worker. And my partner works for a university, and deals with post-grad students. Again, how is that key? Crazy... [shakes head] I am absolutely a key worker. Yes, I could work flexible hours, and yes, it's all spreadsheets and stuff which does not really make any difference to Covid, but the company I work for supply important machinery to government, so I am deemed a key worker. At the very least I should be able to jump to the front of the bakery queue.

I have a 3 year old and a 10 month old and if the nurseries shut and Mrs Fark is (in her own words) "made" to teach all day (she is a secondary school teacher) apparently I will "have to sort it out". Thus the first shot in the home schooling war has been taken. Am I'm a bloody important key worker! You do know the secondary schools are shut right? Sitting outside a locked school all day sobbing about your terrible life choices is not the same as teaching.

Home schooling is the same as house training, right? I'm not sure we're going to manage that, and the kids are no better then me.

PM finishes her maternity leave in a few weeks and it may be she teachers online all day and the nurseries are shut at this time also.

Prospective clients finding it difficult to secretly commission a wet job on Joe the Throat wearing a facemask whispering from across the road? You need to set up a dead letter box, not to be confused with drop dead Fred* Although this would be a great disguise after the flamethrower incident...

During previous lockdowns Amazon drivers were putting stuff on the doorstep and ringing the bell. Now, with a more transmittable variant they're ringing the bell and handing it over. Fucking idiots. Are they on a bung from Boris to ramp up the infections?
*Sigh*

I thought home schooling, which people are widely claiming to be doing, was when you formally remove your kids from school and take full responsibility for educating them. Does plonking them in front of Teams and occasionally checking that they are not starving meet the definition?

Fortnite is a suitable career path, right?
Two duos wins today for Tuffers the Youngest (primary school) and her class mate.
The "work" the school had set was done by 11am. The eldest (secondary school) was still working at 4.30pm! Ha, take that!

No, he works for a company that outsources the building of missiles to a child slave factory in East Asia* and then sells them to Middle Eastern despots who use them to blow up starving Yemeni children. *My phone's autofill suggestion following "child slave factory in" was "China". I guess my phone should know, some of its components were built in factories in China using slave labour.

This is amazing - it's just a fight scene, but it works on so many levels and this is a making of which shows some of what went into it... watch for the cyclists ...

Not having kids I can't join this conversation, I can't even think of a humorous aside about not having kids.
