Do I think Nicola Sturgeon would have done a better job in an independent Scotland than Boris Johnson has done as PM, pandemic or no pandemic? Yes, yes I do. You haven't been keeping up, have you? You're my favourite crankcaller and I'm devastated to watch your IQ nosedive ... St Nicola wouldn't have had access to any vaccines as leader of an independent Scotland, you wazzock.* And certainly no chance of immediately jumping into the EU *No offence meant except as it concerns this ludicrous assertion - if you'd said that the Sturgeon would make a much better PM of the UK, then I would have had to yield the Plaice of Transient Authority to you.

"blocking him because his trip “isn’t essential” is downright dirty." How is it dirty? Him coming up here to shout the odds and mess his hair up in a hi-vis vest isn't essential. Because he's pm? Fuck him. Who else is he bringing? How are they getting here? Are they all covid free? Also see Charles & Camilla. It’s clearly a power play. We all despise Bojo. But he is the Prime Minister for the UK as a whole, not a foreign diplomat.

Sheffield University named their club nigh Tech Noir, although it started as a squat party illegally taking place on building sites around the city. I went once because I was cool back then.

Bob’s Country Bunker. Although only when the Good Old Blues Brothers Boys Band plays. They have both types of music: country and western.

OK, but you are equating 'doing a better job of the pandemic' with having access to vaccines. The issue of who has done, or might have done, a better job so far is nothing to do with vaccines. It's also possible to think that Sturgeon is a better leader than the useless Etonian prick without signing up to the idea that she is a saint. Which nobody actually does.

Now that it's been mentioned by Crank, it would have to be the bar in St Elmo's Fire, so I could kick them all in the nuts while playing a sweet solo on Rob Lowe's saxophone.

I feel the need for a cheery bit of escapism. If you were to choose a bar to get drunk at, which features in a film, which bar and why? You would be drinking there in the context of the film. Mine is the bar the Gremlins overun. Chaotic fun and possibly crippling injuries.
I think I'd choose the one in Robocop (though it's more of a club really) where 'Leon Nash' is dancing and gets arrested by Robocop.

hello ...
I have an ear-ache. A protracted ear problem. I feel as if the insect from 'Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan' is making preliminary investigations in my ear canal. And our broadband keeps dropping out.
None of these are big problems, though, in the big scheme of things. I can see this.

I think Nicola Sturgeon was maybe involved in filming Alex Salmond having sex with under-aged prostitutes, along with Bill Clinton and the Bilderberg Group. That's why she tried to stop Donald Trump flying over to Scotland. She knew he was coming over to stop her.

The worst thing about Boris Johnson is that hes the most popular politician in England and won a landslide share of the English votes in the last election. As much as I despise him I feel more real disgust for anyone that would vote for him. Of course Nicola Sturgeon is a better leader and would do a better job in almost any circumstance. But so could most people. Theres something about Eton educated, lazy, pompous, lying, racist politicians that makes some English folk go weak at the knees and reach for their ankles. Reassured to know their place and the natural order of things is intact or something. The blatant cronyism and seats in the Lords etc is just accepted. I dont know why, theres a few like that up here too, Wee Dougie Ross, Baroness Ruth, The Orange Order.

Anyway, I'm not really happy with the idea that Kong would have a chance against Godzilla. The only real thing I can see from the trailers is that Kong must have a significantly larger brain, as Godzillas head is tiny compared to his. But that aside Kong has no nuclear electric laser powers, is vulnerable to amphibious attacks and has a weakness for making friends with humans. Godzilla is a ruthless killing machine.

Wee Dougie is a real masochist's masochist - you'd think being a referee would bring enough opprobrium for one lifetime without becoming leader of the Tory party as well.

Steaming your head is a good option and also sounds like it means many other things.

I voted for our Labour MP who is a great constituency MP. But I didn't much take to Corbyn, yet I would be deemed as inherently voting for him. Likewise in the US, plenty voted Republican for congress etc but for Biden as leader. They hated Trump as the figurehead but at the lower level were voting for their party. I imagine there are plenty who voted Tory and didn't rate Boris, even more so now I reckon.

I found the aversion people had to Corbyn to be a indication of a general shift to the right down south. People said his policies were too ambitious or unrealistic. 18 months later it turns out anything is possiblemoneywise if the will is there to do it. And yeah he was maybe not decisive enough on a few policies but he was definetly looking out for the normal people I think.

I dont know why, theres a few like that up here too, Wee Dougie Ross, Baroness Ruth, The Orange Order. I don't mind Boris Johnson so much. I don't think I could ever vote for him, as he's a member of the Conservative Party. But I could see him going over the Liberal Democrats, at some point, in emulation of Winston Churchill. I think he is more of a 'social liberal' than the free-market maniacs in the rest of the party. Campaigning for Brexit was terrible, especially as he seemed to be putting his own ego and ambition ahead of the country. The other stuff is maybe a bit overplayed I think. A lot is made of his racism but I don't see it so much. The 'watermelon smiles' seemed to me to be part of a joke about the imperial pretensions of Tony Blair and the Queen more than anything. I am in thrall to a monstrous indifference ...

Just to balance that - I definitely preferred Jeremy Corbyn to Keir Starmer.
But I liked Charles Kennedy the most of all ...

sandybahookie - ahoy there; if you want a distraction, then this is going to be the game of the millennium - just look at the cast list so far, only Brand has refused np.ironhelmet.com/game/5307944120614912and I am getting messages like this "I hope this is you but I've been searching for you ever since i started playing. Do you remember me? I played a quad game with you where we actually got to know a little bit of each other and you told me about your health condition.. The thing I instantly recognized was the torch badge. So I'm hoping this is really you. Sorry for the long text but just wanted to introduce myself." Which is sweet - there are a few chumble-hunters like Ur Quan, Wasse, Slicertos and Chris ScreeWee Cole one of the first guys we played with is in the game (and may be a chumble-hunter!)... I would rate a place in this as high as a 64p victory!
