Did you know? ...
A man in Belarus was killed by a beaver in 2013. Bitten to death.
A warning from nature.

Why do civilisations collapse? ... Disease. The grain runs out. I read The Celestine Prophecy once. It said that the Maya civilisation collapsed / disappeared because the people became too spiritually aware and began to vibrate at such a high level that they literally turned invisible. Perhaps it can be ok to burn a book. Was that before or after the Spanish wiped them out?

Despite his reputation as a Bad Thing, it must be a bit thrilling to be in the presence of someone like Tony B, or even to pass by his residence. I should know as I used to live near Duncan Goodhew, and Vernon Kay was once rude to me in a pub. Duncan Goodhew came to my call centre once on a chugging mission. In real life he is a seriously impressive specimen. Tall Bald and fucking huge shoulders. It would be a braver man than me to suggest he’d have swum faster if he’d had his ears pinned back.

Perhaps it can be ok to burn a book. I'd recommend logs or some other recognised fuel source, depending on the heating infrastructure in your home. Even compared to logs, the thermal output per unit cost of books makes it economically not viable. Burning Kindles would be even worse, and cause significant harmful indoor pollution.

We were at an Ideal Home Exhibition at the Brighton Centre in the late 80s.

Was that before or after the Spanish wiped them out? Shirley that’s the Aztec? tenthenemy ! scamander ! One of you can sort this out. "Francisco de Montejo and his son, Francisco de Montejo the Younger, launched a long series of campaigns against the polities of the Yucatán Peninsula in 1527, and finally completed the conquest of the northern portion of the peninsula in 1546.[97] This left only the Maya kingdoms of the Petén Basin independent.[98] In 1697, Martín de Ursúa launched an assault on the Itza capital Nojpetén and the last independent Maya city fell to the Spanish.[99]"
Not my words, Carol, the words of Top Gear Magazine.

Actually ... The Aztecs (Mexica) weren't wiped out by the Spanish. They were just introduced to ... The Good Book.
There were a lot of casualties in the siege of Tenochtitlan ...
To be honest ... if the Aztec empire were discovered today I can't help but think that - doing what they were doing - they would have got just as rum a deal.

If you're flaying people and throwing them on burning coals, and ... drugging them and pulling out their hearts then ...
The Hammer of Justice will fall.
Jehova's Hammer.

I believe I bought Bernal Diaz del Castillo’s The Conquest of New Spain on your recommendation. So you’d think I’d know this.

I'd love to see him - out in the wild.Well, he was in Croydon.

I wonder what Vernon Kay said to Rolling. It was just general drunken 'bantz' about my hilarious accent, pasty demeanour and general vibe. Him and 10 of his mates from Bolton who'd been drinking all day, vs me and my flatmate who foolishly sat at a table near them hoping for a quiet afternoon pint in front of the football. It was the 90s, when such laddish behaviour was all the rage. Tbh, I blame Tony Blair for setting the tone.

just on the off chance you might have interest here's the trailer: Thanks for the link, will try to find time to listen to it, although this type of thing often gives me high blood pressure when I disagree with stuff. I've listened to snippets and already was getting the feeling that he's projecting too much of the modern Western mind onto his subject. You can watch it as well, if you go to YouTube then click on to his YouTube icon you should get his site and in playlists there will be both YT vids and podcasts to view. Definitely worth a binge watch.

Good evening.
I'm watching Corner Gas on Amazon Prime. 3 episodes in, 104 to go. It's okay.
I also watched the pilot of Resident Alien on Sky One. It was okay.

I like Corner Gas, when I want to park my brain, its ensemble acting is excellent, but its complete lack of meaningful plot takes some getting used to. 4* I'm putting this up (ooh matron) because of the backdrop,,,
