I’ve been playing Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Wow. Think this may be the best platformer I’ve played. It’s a bit more forgiving than Mario, the graphics are larger and more fun and the difficulty and the design of the levels is amazing. Extolling the virtues of DK on Mario Day? That's cold. Almost freezing the tropics. Completely agree with you that Tropical Freeze is at the top of bananadom. I'm always a bit sad that the comparatively uninspired and cumbersomely named New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe that was another port from Wii U to Switch was selling in such high numbers while Tropical Freeze was once more flying under the radar. If only people asked for my opinion before they purchased a video game.

I used to like platforms a lot, got out of the habit of playing them.
Might have a go after I've finished breaking Skyrim.
Why are Nintendo prices £10 higher than anywhere else?

I heard Yuen Chun sauce was made from badgers? I heard it was made from badgers spleens, or otters noses. I'm not quite sure now.

Happy Mar10 Day!
Also wet & windy here. No, I did not have beans on toast last night, why do you ask?
I had mushroom pizza and green salad. And wine.
Suddenly it was already midnight and time to go to bed before I had a chance to play more Xenoblade Chronicles.
So I promised myself that I would just stay up for another half an hour and then put the game away.
45 minutes later I actually put the game away and went to bed. I'm surprised how disciplined I can be, but I was also tired.
Now I just want to play more Xenoblade. I'm still a long way away from the point where I stopped playing years ago, but I can't remember why I gave up.
Oh, and the Mario pipes are brilliant for getting around on your Animal Crossing island. 4 stars.

One never finishes Skyrim, Felice. Felice was talking about breaking Skyrim, not finishing it. Just one-shot the first dragon* along with a couple of giants and mammoths on the way to it. *I've been doing the Brotherhood and Thieves quests instead of the main.

Tenthen, any good non Nintendo game recommendations? Although buying a switch does sound a good plan.
Work is still going, hot desking/hot officing is very confusing. Having to use someone else's lab bench is even worse, everything should be neat and ordered.

I have eaten exactly one (1) live oyster in my life. It was enough for me. Probably was for the poor mollusc as well.

Morning all!
Valheim! I went on a voyage down the coast. Saw a skeleton running off into the trees. I thought they were only supposed to appear in the harder areas. Ambient skeletons? Found an abandoned house and repaired it and turned it into my second home. Turns out it was right next to some water full of 'Neck's. They look more like big green slug toads to me. Got some neck tails out of it. Caught home building fever and went roaming further, found a whole abandoned settlement. Just as I was starting to buff up one of the houses, a terrific thunderstorm complete with hail started, my fire went out, and everything started flooding. Top banana. Eventually it stopped and I finished doing up my lodgings and went to sleep. Surprising lack of greylings and other such doings.
Crankers - get on the Valheim. Its tremendous.
Also beefy dave 2, side quest busy work, top of the banana.

Valheim sounds like Minecraft. Is it like Minecraft? Does it have an immersive atmosphere?

I've bought some pipes but not used them yet. The folks making subway entrances and the like are very ingenious.

Valheim is sort of like Minecraft, with PS1 era graphics and a third person viking protagonist. When you die it's like a Souls / Bloodborne type game. I think you have to eventually find and fight a number of big bosses. There are RPG elements. The sunlight effects make it very atmospheric...

afternoon, oh what a joyful life we live. power failure last night where i am at 1:20 in the morning, just as I'm in the middle of something. Run of form: PC off, 15 mins power on, PC on (RAID system),press F1 - safe mode, 5 mins still safe mode, PC off and restart, PC on F1, safe mode - GAAGGHH - PC off, switch of at the wall and checks surge, surge isn't well, power on, PC on, safe mode AGAIN! - at this point we're 45 mins in at least - again power off power on PC on followed by F2, check this check that and start, 6 mins later crash! absolute failure, A hardware component failed refer to manufacturer, EVERYTHING OFF AGAIN - and so on. 3:30 in the morning I manage to get the restore to work which then crashes, turn it off and on again and bingo all working, it gives me that look as if nothing is wrong and I'm mad. 4 hours later I'm up to get the bathroom waste pipes mended, and now I have no water, the power out killed the pumps. How's your day going?

I had a delicious lunch.
I'd like to stress that I am not a vegan, but I did have a vegan parmesan cheese substitute on top of my pasta. It was as convincing as the dry powdered parmesan you used to get in the 1980s.
I would have it again.

Pretty good, thanks Kane. All major utilities are functioning, my RAID 1 and other computer equipment are working, and I just made myself a delicious cheese, tomato and onion omelette for lunch.
