Valheim is good.
The playing experience is a bit shonkier than the screenshots would have you believe.

I refunded Valheim.
I should have tried it with a controller - but yeah I thought the movement was a bit shonky.
Like my face, natch.
Can you really comment tho when you've played for an hour.

Just re-joined Game Pass and the first game I see is Skyrim.

I'm going to replay Skyrim soon. I have justified it to myself by deciding for no particular reason that I am going to replay all of my top 10 games.

I hated the control on Valheim when I first played. Then I tried it with the PS4 controller and it worked a bit better. Then I tried the default control method with the keyboard and mouse and liked it a lot more. You just have to get used to having your left hand hooked over the keyboard like the talon of a vulture. |

How 'sandboxy' is Valheim? What i mean is, is there a set plot arc, or are you pretty free to pick up quests/side missions at will depending on how you play?

It is very sandboxy, though less so than say, No Man's Sky, because you have a boss showing on your map, who you kind of assume you need to get to.
There are no quests / missions. It's not that advanced.

It's maybe best to think of it as a massive game from 20 years ago, with good lighting effects.

I'm so tired - my IT guy has just gone; I'm too tired to describe what's happening on the PC and SMART changes here, But it's all happening in spite of the usual lumpy bumpy bits 😅 He's taken away my old rig to refurbish and clean stick upstairs when he brings them on back late Saturday or Sunday. To get all backups; my 2nd backup PC up to speed etc has meant woking through most of the last two nights. Can't remember if I posted the new rig specs, but I am trying to find a 4k display at 40-43", 16" x9" ratio... This site favours LG but it's out of date. displaylag.com/display-database/After 64h with 6h sleep I've had enough - my eyrs are bleeding and I STILL can't get the sound fixed on my bacup pc so you're spared my video posting. Just started the second, it was the penguin marriage episode. At least you’re through the first series - that’s not great. Parks & Rec isn’t as laugh-out-loud as 30 Rock or Arrested Development, but is generally very entertaining. |

EA play is coming to Gamepass for pc tomorrow. Might give the latest battlefield a spin. Think I played the beta on PS4. Never finished Titanfall 2 either. FIFA can do one. Chumbles you'll be able to sell those keys for the games you don't want on eBay and grab a few quid back. If you can be arsed. |
