Morning all,
Cities:Skylines. Spent yesterday building up a nice little town, sure I'll ruin it. Spent ages reading up on cycle paths, it has me in its claws.
No trolls yet though, bridges, but no trolls.

Morning all
Games - that there Valheim. I’ve got a lovely little seaside shack set up, crafted a bow and arrers, went deer hunting, got captured in Vietnam and was forced to play Russian roulette for gambling purposes.
Tv - no Films - no Books - no Preparing for two job interviews tomorrow - yes.

I played maybe 20 minutes of Valheim yesterday, repairing a house. I got stung by wasps in the house. I removed the nest.
This is all ...
This morning I spent 30 minutes tweaking graphics card settings for each game I have. Well ... 'tweaking'. I mean setting them according to a website I was on that gave optimum graphics settings.
I bought 'Root' - the videogame version of the board game also. I was delivered the board game as a late Christmas present yesterday, and wanted to learn how to play before opening the box.
Board game rules flummox me.

Having played Diplomacy with Lazy, I can only imagine what a real time board game would be like. Such delicious angst.

Now I've got a PC to play the latest games I am busily downloading them, I don't know whether I'll bother with the second part of actually playing them and will probably spend most of the time on my gacha games.

It's worth keeping an eye on the Epic Games Store for free games. I have so far got Elite, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Subnautica and World War Z for free. I have not really played any of them. Obviously you should play PUBG too.

Hi
Gaymez (night time), restarted Fallout 4 for a third time this week, but this time using the, so far, bug free PS+ Collection version on my PS5. Made it again to the museum and this time got to have rich chat with the Minutemen gang. The old woman was a bit odd. I then put on a power suit and grabbed a mini gun from a crashed aircraft so I could clear the town of any remaining Raiders. Easy peasy? Well it was until a Deathclaw appeared. No problem, locked on several times using VATS and shot it with the mini gun. Only problem was it had no affect and I was quickly smashed to pieces. Perhaps one to run away from until I'm more buff.
Gaymez 2 (day time when should be working) , restarted the Witcher 3 yesterday. My ps4 save file said I'd last played it in April 2017. From memory I only played for a day or so then stopped. Did the training tutorial and now on horseback with Vesemir looking for Yennifer. Was rudely interrupted by a griffin eating a poor chaps horse.
Tldr, Finishing new games for show. Restarting part finished old games for dough.

Morning. Too busy. Work etc.
TV. The news. Apparently we're in a pandemic. Who knew!
Games. No. A little minecraft with the child. We went to another island. Found lots of good stuff ™ then on the way home she wanted to drive* the boat. We're lost now. Had to download the map, restart it in creative. Find out where we were and how to get home.
*Yes, yes. Pilot, Captain, steer etc etc. Not "drive" you pedantic wanker.

Morning explosive good looking salmons!
This yesterday I was in a right predicament. At home in nothing but a loincloth, a troll down the coast standing atop my assunder remains. I quickly hatched a plan - to sneak up behind the troll and then figure out what to do at that point because I couldn’t really think of a plan. Having snuck up on them I daringly ran past them in a panic, grabbed my stuff, and jumped in the sea and swam away. The troll tried to follow, but soon turned back. I swam home victorious and then watched the troll wander around, looking slightly lost. He just sort of stood for a while, contemplating. Honestly they seem like a decent sort, just a bit eager to smash you ass from under with a masssive club.
Also played some Valheim.

I wish I had a laptop computer powerful enough to cruise through the games of yesteryear, on battery power, withou the fans coming on. Is it too much to ask?
The laptop I have is surely many times more powerful than a Switch, yet ... I play a very old game like Silent Hunter III and the battery is down in 45 minutes. In contrast the Switch runs in battery mode for what seems like ages. It never runs out before I've stopped.
My impression of full gaming spec laptops is that they have names like 'Viper' and fluoroscent lights and ... skull and alien imagery.
Not for me.

In other news Taiwan was way ahead on the Covid thing but WHO wouldn't link in due to political reasons.
Listened to a Joe Rogan podcast with a WHO scientist. The eay cover up stuff is harrowing. Worst thing to happen was Trump overegging it all, made it politcal so people ignored it. Blind squirrels and nuts comes to mind.

lazybones Yes lots of gaming laptops are like that. Lots aren't nowadays as well as other folk feel the same way. My Lenovo isn't too 'G@m3rz'. There are plenty of other ones as well. The ones scubar has been looking at are in a plain shell. The Dell ones are quite plain looking etc.

Taiwan isn't a real country. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_of_the_Republic_of_ChinaIt still classifies itself as the Republic of China - as opposed to the People's Republic of China which actually controls China. The PRC/ROC are locked in a very odd embrace where both claim to be China. Taiwan can't declare independence as this would probably provoke an invasion. It's very much a hangover from the civil war which pretty much ended in 1950 The ROC held membership of the UN/WHO etc until the 1970s, but since the it has been replaced by the PRC and no longer has full status. There is a strange and delicate trade and diplomatic dance around this. nd it has clearly led t issues in the pandemic.

I don't need a laptop, though. I bought this Lenovo one for purely work purposes last year. I shouldn't have looked ....
