In a moving tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh today I had a cheese muffin for lunch.
This morning I handed some of the aggressive paperwork to my son-in-law so that it can become his problem. Now I'm finally ready for the weekend.
Last night I played Xenoblade Chronicles instead of going to bed. I may be tired but at least I have resolved the Andreas - Monica - Erik triangle by favouring Andreas. Look, Monica, Andreas may be dull as dishwater but I've seen the future and he's not going to dump you like that cad Erik.
Then I also remembered that I should have beaten up the Lake Magdalena monster about ten levels ago, so I went and turned it into fish fingers. Next I'll need to go and pummel another Singing Brog so that Sesame can put his hare brained plan into action. I keep telling Sesame that he needs to be more open, but will he listen?

I’ve been playing some computer games. Getting killed extremely frequently in Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, and building a monstrous house in Valheim. It has no redeeming features besides its height. It looks like a ramshackle wooden prison. One window. Roofing problems. It hasn’t even got a proper roof. I mean I can see the potential, but it might take another few hours yet.

On the day of Diana's death they cancelled all the programmes on all the channels, and even took Ceefax down. I was particularly annoyed as at that time I was an afficionado of Bamber Boozle's trivia quiz on page 150. Bamber Boozler was on C4, not Ceefax. I had moved to London on the Saturday. In preparation for my first proper job starting 1 September 1997. On the pus side it provided an easyish topic of conversation on my first day at work. Apart from the vaguely awkward silence after I made a drink driving joke. Yes you are right - it was C4. Even the C4 lads capitulated to the media blackout after holding out for a couple of hours, iirc. On that same day (or possibly it was the day of the funeral) I was going out of town and remember taking a bus across London to Euston station that took about 20 minutes instead of the usual hour. It felt like I was the only person in the metropolis not sitting inside sobbing into their jellied eels.*
(*I realise this is an appalling stereotype - apologies to Tuffers)

Decided to try a subscription from The Spicery , £26 for 3 months, each month they send spices for 2 meals for 2 people, you need to add the fresh ingredients your self. First box:

What the Hell?
No BBC4? It’s not that they’ve replaced the programming. They’re just asking you to turn to BBC1.
I am extremely unhappy.

They saw you coming. You could buy all those for less than that. I was waiting for this, yes I could, but one of the things that I liked was trying new recipes and more importantly you don't end up buying loads of different spices some of which will hardly be used afterwards. And also it seems fun, you okay with that?

Netflix, Amazon Prime and Now TV are not that great. I wanted to watch the Masterchef Final and Top of the Pops 1990.

My favourite Valheim houses are the ones I built around the stony ruins in the Black Forest. Half stone, half wood, all as if cobbled together by a drunken cobbler(s). I’ve found them in various states of disrepair and then built defences and doors and floors around them, with the odd bit of roofing to make the crafting table work.
Although having said that my chalet on the edge of the mountains is cosy, has easy access to a bearby tomb/dungeon and has robust defences that have already seen offf one horde of graydwarfers .
It’s all ittelance though since I’m basically just playing monster Hunter for TV e rest of time.

So now the Tories are telling us what we can watch and listen to? I expect Steve Baker and the lads will be along soon enough to set up a Research Group on the matter to protest at this curtailment of our freedoms.
Bamber Boozle must be slowly turning in his pixellated grave.

My guess is it's designed to undermine support for the Licence fee. Nothing else makes sense.

It hasn't worked. I already deeply dislike the TV Licence fee.
I have complained and asked for my money back for today as the BBC isn't showing any programmes.

Valheim chat. I have entered the Bronze Age, and am rocking about in a shiny 3-piece armour. I have also planted carrots. Lots of carrots. I also found my first troll cave. For some reason I didn’t actually expect it to be full of trolls, but it was. I ran away as fast as one can while wearing bronze armour.

It hasn't worked. I already deeply dislike the TV Licence fee. I have complained and asked for my money back for today as the BBC isn't showing any programmes. I don't have a problem with the TV Licence, but I always thought it only applied to the BBC, but you also need one to watch or record live tv on any terrestrial channel. "If you watch or record shows as they're being shown on telly in the UK ('live TV'), you need to be covered by a TV licence. You also need one if you use BBC iPlayer " But... "A rule that came into force in September 2016 means you need a licence to legally use BBC iPlayer, even if you're only watching catch-up TV. But that doesn't apply to other catch-up services, so ITV Hub, All 4 and My5 are legal to use without a licence as long as you're not using them to watch live TV on any device." So ditch the BBC* and you're golden *I assume that since Britbox is subscription you don't need a licence for that.
