I didn't think the sun shone in soulsbourne games except when it was praised.

Pyjakson has loads of kids but, instead of school he's sent them all to America to drive coast to coast on motorbikes and have sex with the ladies.

I was told afterwards it was very good though

Morning all.
Yesterday I cooked a wholesome casserole for dinner. Would have been better had I done it when we had the cold snap, but there we go.
@tvblog More MST3K - The She-Creature. Quite a good one, features an evil hypnotist. I followed this up with Killjoys and a smattering of camera review YouTube videos.

Morning all,
Yesterday I gave a talk to a bunch of 6th formers about Greek Theatre. No idea how it went, I also avoided asking if they kids still say cool. I'm saying I was effectively Seymour Skinner.
Later on I neared the end of the Thieves Guild main quest. The varying DLC does pack a punch, with Dawnguard and Dragon born you'll also have vamps and cultists spawn occasionally when you fast travel. £ each of the beggars appeared when I travelled across the map to a non-descript location. Then a troll turned up and eventually a dragon.
In the end I wandered off leaving them to kick the hell out of each other. I allowed myself a jaunty smile.

Yesterday I gave a talk to a bunch of 6th formers about Greek Theatre. If you were my son, I'd be devastated. Last night was Japanese class. I've told one of the guys about the 'world's hottest curry' and when he found out it was free if you finish it, he saw what he thinks is the chance of an easy free meal. Unfortunately the restaurant was shut when we got there so it's been rescheduled. The delay meant I missed my train by a couple of minutes and ended up waiting for the best part of an hour in Waverley Station, so I watched Star Trek TNG on my phone. I want better for my imaginary children.

I watched Jupiter Ascending last night. Decent arty look about it, although the air borne fighting scenes were convoluted. Also, Eddie Redmayne has the most annoying movie voice here since Christian Bale in Batman. Amazingly Sean Bean does not die. The best bit though was the dialogue with gems like "Bees are genetically designed to recognise royalty" and these gravity boots work by "re-arranging equations".

Morning.
Yesterday in Skyrim I was collecting butterflies and mountain flowers near Whiterun to get on top of my little troll problem when I got into another fight with a dragon. It wasn't an opportune moment; at one point I turned around to find a mudcrab pinching my bum, and then a wolf joined the fun. But the most worrying aspect of the fight was that it took place near a giants' camp, and I wasn't keen on getting them involved.
Finally I had the dragon down to a sliver of health, it flew off for one last time. As I turned around I saw in the distance one of the giants bludgeoning it to death. I screamed "This is my dragon! Leave it alone!" as I was terrified that the whole thing had been in vain. Fortunately after sprinting across the field I arrived in time for the dragon soul. Phew.
Then I watched the Nintendo Direct. No Diabolo 3, but other stuff that's interesting. Particularly the Solaire of Astora amiibo for Dark Souls that "lets you praise the sun with reckless abandon". They won't be able to make enough of them.
Finally, I read the article on D. Trump's meeting with representatives of the videogames industry to address the pressing issue of violence in games, and how those representatives were surrounded by a bunch of swivel-eyed lunatics who think that the Muppets are a bad role model for children. Wonder how that went.

Morning!
Amipal, re Skyrim VR immersion, completely agree. Especially at night. Looking up at the stars whilst that Saber Cat bears down on you, there's nothing quite like it. The move controllers are a double edged sword though. Great for magic and melee, horrible for archery. Having to notch an arrow, draw, aim and then fire is a bit of a chore. Naturally I switched back to a controller quite quickly. If I ain't sneaking, I ain't Skyrimming.
Got caught up on X Files last night. OKish episodes. The long running story is still a bit shit, but the 'monster of the week' offerings are still pretty good.

Jupiter Ascending's only good point is the spacecraft design. Everything else is terrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Eddie Redmayne should be forced to return his oscar after his performance in this.

I'm pretty sure that giants are actually quite placid, if not provoked. They've tolerated my presence in their camps before, only attacking when I take their mammoth cheese.

Morning.
I have hurt my foot. Last night I fell asleep in my chair (a potent combination of old age and BDT). When i woke up I got up to go to bed. Unfortunately my left foot hadn't got the memo and was still asleep. As a result I took two steps and my numb left foot buckled under me and I fell over, much to my surprise and that of the cats.
At least the resulting pain woke my foot up.
Oh, and one of the cats threw up outside our bedroom during the night.
Games: none.

That's what I thought, too, on my first encounter. Unfortunately I must have met a more aggressive lot as they were sprinting at me with clubs...

Nothing quite like getting a giant's club under the chin.
Never seen a video game character fly so far before. And it was me flying.

Similar thing happened to me in the barber shop once. There was a massive wait and my foot had gone all numb and I crashed into the coffee table. Weirdly we all pretended nothing happened and got on with the haircut.

delicious Skyrim chat....
Giants only tend to get irked if you attack them or a mammoth. Most giant camps have a suitable high spot you can use a bow on them from. Often if you stay in stealth they'll get near and then somehow lose you, remember that the eye icon only means they are looking for someone, not that they have detected you. As for dragon souls, I think it's impossible to lose one, I've fast travelled mid soul-capture animation and it carried on in my new location.
If and when you get a place it's worth tracking back and picking up the dragon bones/scales, they are heavy so you'll need to make a couple of trips. Just store them in a chest.
The all-in fights can be a thing of high amusement, for some reason in Fall Out if a raider and super mutant turn up they gang up on you. Whereas in Skyrim it's a Royal Rumble.
wrestling and Skyrim? Such joy.
