Morning Admin, Faceless, Rolling, Shenguin, Tiddles, Babyfark, Dominicorourke, Scubar, Scamander and Crank. The Assyrians assed their onions, just like normal people. I once read that Babylonian priests hated leeks. May have been a very specific sect. Fish and leeks were cut out of their diet because both cause stinky breath. A priest needed to be able to invade a deity's air space without making them gag.

So no U2 jokes allowed on the Ed De Bono obituary. I will note this for next time.

Probably for the best I didn't call him a bullshit merchant whose only product was himself.

Weren't the Assyrians quite into peeling humans? Displaced anger at the complications of the leek/onion preparation process. Impaling was a thing, as well as scaphism. They knew how to ass their humans.

I'd like to sign up but I just found out last night that I have a ton of stuff to do so I don't know whether I'll have time. Edit: I'll probably have a go anyways. Someone has to take last place. I don't really have the time either Ten, but you can select auto complete for the team. I did this and honestly it's not much worse than any team I would come up with and I can try and put some effort into the substitutions each turn. Surely just pick players from the teams that are playing Scotland. #footybantz

Add a console, a few takeaway boxes and scaphism is pretty much how most boxers live.

I'm away for one day... Brewcunt Chat. Who thought peddlers of hipster ale* would turn out like that? I sense a lot more is coming. I read that they once used a fixed gun in an advert and referred to it as a tank. Dead.To.Me. *ale for people who don't like it but want to pretend that they drink ale. EclipseChat. Orobably my favourite podcast to research was on eclipses. Using a NASA site you can get precise times and locations for events in the past if an eclipse can be fixed to it. This is pretty amazing for any lover of ancient history. I read some good papers on eclipses datong the death of Patroclus and the suitors in the Odyssey. Yes, I know. More tangible the eclipse during the Sicilian expedition as wellas others. Gotta love the Assyrians as well(looking at @tenthen).
I think I remember reading / hearing that ale wasn't the same as beer. Ale was something quite different: Almost like a proto-beer. Beer without hops?
So when people say 'Real ale' what they mean is 'Real beer', but how could beer not be real? The meaning evaporates completely.

There's actually no evidence that Assyrians practised scaphism. If they had they'd let us know in great detail. It also involves honey, and beekeeping was not widely known at that time in Mesopotamia. What's often translated as "honey" is most likely date syrup (not that you can't use that in torturing someone to death). There's no evidence that the Persians did it, either, so the whole thing smells of Greek anti-Persian propaganda (and honey). A Greek wouldn't think twice about wasting perfectly good milk and honey like that.
So the Assyrians said yes to peeling humans, no to food waste.

Real ale specifically means beer that continues to ferment n the cask as opposed to pasteurised beer or pressurised keg beer. camra.org.uk/learn-discover/the-basics/what-is-live-beer/

The 16th/17th century definition of English ales as brewed without hops is pretty much obsolete these days. If you have ever tried hop free beer you will know why hopped beer became popular

So I just joined the fantasy sportsball super League thing.
I've already fucked up as i used an email address I use for junk mail. It's "scober" not scuber - and so that team isn't him. I didn't make scober my username but eufa are obviously incompetent.

Nope, it was all 'Wars of the Roses' this and that.

I prefer beer without hops. Without too many hops.
I would happily be a 16th century friar, chugging no-hop ale, in a forest glade.
