I wish there was a song. Something big-hearted - full of enthusiasm and winning spirit. In your Paisley slum?

Tenthen. Are you manofalbion?
If not, who's manofalbion?

"Switch to portrait to play fantasy football"
Apparently it's Euro96 and web Devs can't change the formatting.

When I moved I took down the toilet door. Now got electrician's and kitchen fitter coming. Have ordered a folding door so they don't think I'm some kind of perv.

There's actually no evidence that Assyrians practised scaphism. If they had they'd let us know in great detail. It also involves honey, and beekeeping was not widely known at that time in Mesopotamia. What's often translated as "honey" is most likely date syrup (not that you can't use that in torturing someone to death). There's no evidence that the Persians did it, either, so the whole thing smells of Greek anti-Persian propaganda (and honey). A Greek wouldn't think twice about wasting perfectly good milk and honey like that. So the Assyrians said yes to peeling humans, no to food waste. I thought that apiculture was a known thing in the later Assyrian period? There were Hittite laws and possible bee-trade in the levant (Tel Rehov). And the song, "honey, duh-duhduh-duh, aw Shalmaneser. You're my candy girl..."

And the song, "honey, duh-duhduh-duh, aw Shalmaneser. You're my candy girl..." That song just doesn't work with date syrup, does it? Yes, beekeeping is well documented around the Mediterranean during the Bronze and Iron Ages. But it's a long way from Anatolia, Egypt and the Mediterranean coast to Assyria. This is why Shamash-resh-usur, governor on the Upper Euphrates, boasts about having introduced beekeeping in the area in the 8th century.

I'm a bit worried that one of my forwards is Immobile. Is there a way to see the other boxers atm, or is that only once the first results are in? The website's a bit clunky. I can't see your team on the Chatterbox mini league unless you are one of the people pretending to be Sheep. Have you accepted babyfark's invitation? I appreciate this is not something one does without a great deal of soul searching. I think I used an incomplete link. It's worked now, although I have a slightly different team. My forward is still Immobile. For reasons I can explain I'm again without internet atm.

So apparently Scotland are going to take the knee when playing Engerland but not against anyone else. The argument seems to be that the knee was getting routine so they are 'taking a stand' now instead. I am not sure it's very clear. Like almost all good ideas, this shift seems to have originated in Motherwell.

I think we can all be quietly confident that the Scots taking a knee will sufficiently discourage the racists who support England.
