The idea of cask ale being better is a bit weird. I'm pretty sure it's tied in with a mid-1970s conception of 'Merry England': Morris Dancing, 'obby 'osses - all of that ...
A pint of flat lukewarm ale can be very nice, but it's no better than a delicious glass of foaming Belgian or Czech beer (delivered with max carbonation).
Anyway, that's my take. I am no beer expert ...

I'm a bit worried that one of my forwards is Immobile.
Is there a way to see the other boxers atm, or is that only once the first results are in? The website's a bit clunky.

Cask beer is generally better than a keg bitter produced to the lowest possible cost.
You don't get many of the really cheap beers around now. Ansells Best, Smiles Best, M&B Springfield. They used to be common. A bitter imitation of the cheapest types of lager.
There has been a significant improvement in the average quality of beer sold in pubs since I started buying pints. There used to be a lot of grotty pubs and clubs around Brum that only sold keg bitter. The sort of bar where you had to buy Guinness if you wanted an ok beer. That's pretty rare now.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with a good lager or a good keg beer if that is what you want.

Just had porridge for lunch. Mainly as an attempt at cholesterol offsetting as I had a fried egg roll and a smokey bacon crisp roll for breakfast.

Yes I realise I'm only deluding myself. I'm not even doing that.
Was tasty though. Banana, apple, blueberries, strawberry, walnut.

Afternoon Games - been playing through some god of war games past few weeks. Polished off the first one a few days ago and then started on chains of Olympus. The first one is obv very good but I hate some of the platforming & the end boss took me FOREVER! Started 2 today which is excellent so far. Elden ring - looks like George rrrrrrrr Martin hasn’t had much influence. All looks very Miyazaki. Probably just tacked George’s name on it before everyone decided game of thrones was shit now. Will still pick it up. Euros - does anyone else think it’s mental this is still going on? Cases are on the up here & Other countries are handling with varying success. What happens if they have a case & the shoe squad has to isolate?

What is Shoe Squad? Is it like Police Squad, but with shoes?
I'd watch that.

Vegan samosas from the samosa man. Delicious.
As I have been good* I can eat a full range of bad food later. And have all the drinks.
Win/win.

Obviously compared to Crankcaller is not a great standard, but it is a start. Good intentions.

Apparently Andy Robertson has gifted ALL his team-mates and backroom staff with Scottish themed gift hampers: - Irn Bru
- Shortbread
- Tenants
- Whisky
- Apple Watches?
- Bang and Olufsen headphones?
A great man. A good man.

I think he's holding a piece of paper that he's just picked out of a Euros sweepstake. He has the look of a man who's about to say "you got North Macedonia mate, and you owe me a quid"

Ahhh, the old school boy 'Trump in your hand and let it out under your mates nose' trick. Classic Harry.

I can't see your team on the Chatterbox mini league unless you are one of the people pretending to be Sheep. Have you accepted babyfark's invitation? I appreciate this is not something one does without a great deal of soul searching.

I think the teams will be revealed an hour or so before the first game starts. Maybe? I don't know. I hope so ...
