Weekend Chatterbox

Boring fact 2: Mother's Day in Germany is on the same day as in the US but Father's Day is on a different day. Neither is on the same day as in the UK. This used to cause me stress and confusion, but nowadays I'm no longer confused, just stressed.

I would also like to send my love to Chumbles. Unreservedly. Even more I would like to see him give out some bollocking to everyone who deserves it, which is, let's face it, all of us.

Today I noticed that there was a Fantasy Football transfer deadline looming. I felt compelled to finally glance at the rules. I made some changes that I'm sure are extremely stupid. I'm already near the bottom of the table and will find myself there by the end of the day because all my players for today are on the bench. One thing that I found extremely tricky is that almost all teams now have red or reddish shirts, and if they don't they have white shirts. And if they are Germany they've got red shirts when they should have white ones. I cannot tell the teams apart.

Over the last few days I've had a lot of frustration trying to contact various medical secretaries who I need to ask for letters that prove to Priti Hopeless that I've been continuously in this country for the last 5 years. These people don't answer their phone. On Friday I spent 2 hours in a phone queue, listening to a catchy tune and a voice reassuring me that my call was important to them. Clearly it wasn't and after 2 hours I gave up because it had become obvious that the secretary was having a long weekend.

At least I played Animal Crossing during that time so it's not a complete loss, and the weather had the decency to bring on continuous rain.

Because of Metroid Dread announcement hype, tonight's game stream will be Metroid Zero Mission, of which I don't possess a copy but have played the original. This prompted me to check on my Metroid collection and it turns out that I actually possess a version of all the games, mainline and Prime, except for Other M, which no-one likes and which therefore doesn't count. I should really make sure that I've actually played those before Dread comes out.

I just read a review of "Bloodsport". Here's a quote: "The film`s most imaginative moments come as the filmmakers struggle to explain why all-American Frank has a thick Belgian accent-played as he is by blond and burly Jean Claude Van Damme, a karate champion from Brussels."

What is all this about bollockings from Chumbles? Is this what Chumbles has become known for?
