I think I’ve been diminished by Father’s Day.
On Father’s Day all Fathers become masculated.
All non-Fathers become emasculated.

I went as far as putting Shaqiri in my team before swapping him for goddam Bale at the last second.

I’m not a shill for Meat-free Mondays. I just like what happens at the end.

I am reading a most excellent book* about Trappist ales of Belgium (and other countries). It is making me dangerously thirsty.
I would very much like to be in Auchun or Carrefour filling an enormous trolley with small yet incredibly strong beers at very reasonable prices.
* Trappist Beer Travels. 4* recommended

It's probably on iplayer. The most memorable thing was how many of them said they had no clue about the big questions and weren't even sure there was a heaven etc. I'd hoped for some nuggets of wisdom after decades of thought and reflection. I guess that's why they got into the booze game. Books: I've been reading Mark Lanegan's memoir. He is like the opposite of a Trappist.

I've got a couple of his albums, I really should get more.

I went to St Bernard's Monastery on the way back from Nottingham last Saturday. It's between the M42 and the M1 in Liecestershire. I got absolutely done by a monk. I was going to buy 2 cases f their ambitiously priced beer. He told me I could have a free glass if I bought 3 cases. So basically he sold me a small glass for £32. He seemed such a nice old monk as well. I now own a lifetime supply of Tynt Meaxow. It's 7%. A dark thick ale, hints of coffee and chocolate. Very much a porter or imperial stout in style. Absolutely unsuitable for a baking hot week like this week has been. Very

The Metroid Zero Mission stream is over and was a lot of fun. I now realise that it was a mistake not to buy that game and I'm going to rectify that. It's quite different from the original and it's got a map, can you imagine! No more getting hopelessly lost!
Seriously this is a good game.
