How did that article not mention Elden Ring? I made a comment to that effect, although I acknowledged that strictly speaking Elden Ring wasn't part of E3. As far as I remember it was only shown in Geoff's pre-E3 gaming summer festival do.

We have a Polish family running our local chippie. The actual chips are rubbish though, the one a bit further away does brilliant crispy ones.

Icelands have a new range of Harry Ramsden products. The chips are pretty good. OTTM: No lazybones today? Perhaps a delivery has been made.

Our nearest chip shop is owned by a man called George, who I think might be Greek, in a way. Then there's another that I think is run by ... someone Greek? Then there's another ... and I think that one's run by Italian people, but I don't know ...
To be fair, none of them are closest enough to be able to get back home without the chips going a bit cold.

I feel rough today. I went to a football themed bar and watched two football matches on their big tellys. I had a few drinks.
I woke up feeling tremulous. I have some work stuff to do - I meant to get up at six. I felt hungover and tired and lay there in bed with my heart pounding.
Ah well.
I need some food ...

Deliveroo tends to bring warm fish and chips, not hot but warm. Sometimes you just don't want to drive to the chippy and wait outside though, like in Fridays torrential downpours.

My local Italian chippy guy, Salvatore, is a bit jaded and tired of the chip game. You can taste his ennui no matter how much salt n sauce you have. He still has a speck of passion for an average pizza though.

I've just made my FF transfer. I think I'm basically guaranteed to win it now.

My favourite chippie is run by a Cypriot family. My chippie is Cypriot too. Turkish kind, not those fecking Greeks. I can forgive them, as the place is called Cod Fellas.

Cod Botherers would be more acceptable. Nobody likes to see a dodgy fish pun, especially in the actual fish industry.

Is L'Alba D'Oro still the Edinburgh chippy of choice?

Chippies I think a lot of Turkish and Greek Cypriots came to the UK in the 1970s. Lots of them set up chip shops/ kebab shops.
The rest all work in insolvency. I do not know why. The world of insolvency is pretty small but there are loads of Cypriots work in it.
So long as they cook good chips rather than the books I have no especial preference for the type of Cypriot running a chippie.
A special shout out to Bakers Lane fish bar. It is the worst place I have ever had chips from. And I have been to Big Johns. I don't know how they did it but the chips were both under and overcooked and very greasy. Also the fat didn't taste fresh. I have not been there since 1989. I think the same family still run it.

Hello folks. So Kane drove a Ferrari Testarossa as young man? The insurance must have been horrendous. En-route to work. Running late as the little 9yr old alarm clock slept till 07.15. No games, no TV. Running a Finance business in the 80's has it's perks and you get a cool phone.

My favourite chippie is run by a Cypriot family. The best Kebab shop is run by some nice Turkish chaps, The best chippie was run by a nice Chinese couple but they left and it is now run by Piri piri chicken, definitely not up to par. The best cafe is 15 mins away and is the only cafe worth going to in Croydon.

Hardware chat. Anyone able to offer decent tablet purchasing advice? Not the kind you swallow. I want something that is pleasant to use for reading, mainly scrolling through work stuff. I guess if it can handle a few games I wouldn't object. Or are these things all much of a muchness these days?
