51 has a very good chance of being the winning score for the week for the league. Choosing a reserve Danish forward as your captain was a bold move.

I am no longer having to isolate. More importantly, the rest of my family are no longer having to isolate. House to myself. Glorious.

hi
I spent the weekend in Sutton Coldfield. I hadn't had much sleep and got there on Saturday morning, tired ...
We sat there for an hour or so talking to my dad and my sister, then my dad made a comment about me wanting to got to the supermarket and could we pick up some stuff for them? I hadn't mentioned going to the supermarket and said (in a fairly good humoured way), 'So we've just got here but you want us to go out again and do your weekly shopping?' and my dad said 'Not if it's begrudged.'
My sister is one year younger than me, she lives with my dad and has a car.
Anyway I did want to get some bananas, so we went out and trudged round Sainsburys and got these items that it turned out my sister wanted.
In the evening we went to a restaurant. The PM is a vegan and had a look on the menu in advance and saw a lot of vegan stuff. When we got there the restaurant said that the menu was wrong and they only had one meal with a vegan option, in which sweet potato replaced halloumi. Anyway the food eventually came and the waitress said that the halloumi on the plate was actually vegan halloumi, but it really wasn't. And the manager came and was effusive in apologies and made these concessions, but the rest of us had finished our food by that time and the PM didn't want to wait another half hour for food, so only had chips. A terrible place.
When we got home I sort of argued with my dad about Winston Churchill and Hitler. I was saying Winston Churchill was as bad as Hitler because of the status of subjugated people in the British empire but my heart wasn't in it ...
The next morning the PM and I got Covid track and trace messages saying we had to self-isolate for seven days. We took some tests and came up negative but even so, it meant my sister cancelled the restaurant we were due to go to, and when I suggested cooking dinner she said that she and my dad had been planning to have a takeaway later instead.
It wasn't a good weekend.

I spent my weekend mostly wandering around in a semi-drunken malaise. Played some games, watched some more 'Toast of London', watched the footy highlights and completely forgot about the Grand Prix - because I was in a semi-drunken malaise.
Lazy's weekend sounds well bum in comparison.

LazybonesHave you been to Land? land.restaurant/So far as I am aware it is the only Vegan restaurant in Brum. It is supposed to be good, but I have not been there. Hitler mainly ate vegetarian so it should be ok for the more right leaning.

It wasn't a good weekend. Sounds terrible. I feel like I made my weekend of beers and sun sound too perfect. But in fact I did have quite a stressful saturday. My ex-partner found out that I'm seeing someone else now in an unplanned way. She had come round to pick up a painting of hers and saw some clothes of new person that I hadnt realised were there in my bedroom, started questioning me about it and I felt compelled to be honest. We've been separated for 7 months now so I dont feel that bad about it but she was upset and it was really awkward and horrible. ....And then to de-stress on sunday I sat in the sun all day drinking pints and having a nice time. I have a tan and everything.

No sun down south, just getting more grey as the day goes on. Games; Iron harvest on gamepass. Got a new TV that greta would hate but the gap isn't big enough for a monster sized one. Technology has come a long way in 10 years. Graun doesn't seem to be into love island that much.

Fuckin .restaurant TLD. What a bag of shite. Grumble grumble.
Don't care if the food is nice.

It looked nice? Jokes aside, that's a shit trick to pull.

Sandy, you should have gone down the sitcom route and just said you cross dress. That would be quite the squeeze, but the clothes are still there so I'll see if I can get in them later and report back tomorrow

Anyhoo, Fantasy Football has got real tough, I am falling down the league. Will Mancini drop Immobile as he was rubbish against Austria and the subs scored? None of my forwards or midfielders seem to score anymore, who should I bring in? This is where the big fantasy footy boys make the tough calls. Time to make Pickford captain?

I spent my weekend mostly wandering around in a semi-drunken malaise. Played some games, watched some more 'Toast of London', watched the footy highlights and completely forgot about the Grand Prix - because I was in a semi-drunken malaise. Lazy's weekend sounds well bum in comparison. It was. I need an appropriate level of distance. I would happily have booked a hotel to see my dad and sister but I really feel my dad would have been offended if we hadn't gone to stop there. I went up to see him last week for Father's Day - there and back in one day. When I told him I was coming up he said 'It'll be great to see you but it'll only be for a couple of hours won't it?' And I reminded him that we would both be up again the following weekend. Everything I do is wrong there I swear (sorry to offload all this). I went down with a bottle of wine to have with Sunday dinner. It was quite a good bottle. And I got double the amount of beer, because I knew my dad would have some. The PM and I bought both rounds of drinks in a pub and of course the ... shopping that my dad and sister wanted ... On Sunday I asked my dad (while he was drinking one of my bottles of Duvel), if he minded me opening a bottle of wine he'd bought, just because it was a bit lighter than the one I'd taken down. He said fine. Then my sister butted in and said. 'That's Fleurie. Dad bought that. Dad likes that', and I said 'I know, that's why I asked him', and she said 'but I know how fast you drink'. When the Fleurie was opened, it was my sister pouring it all out, guzzling it and emptying the bottle.
With my mum having passed on into the world of memories and illusion I feel I'm exposed to the full power of my dad and sister's behaviours.
It's like a psycho-familial Van Allen Belt.

I put a number of Fantasy Football eggs in the Netherlands basket.
While sitting in 'The Shakespeare' with the PM, opposite New Street station, I watched my Fantasy Football hopes torpedoed. Or maybe the backet upset. I don't know. The eggs shattered.

lazybonesIf it's any consolation at least you're talking to him despite it being hard. I didn't speak to my dad from age 21 to his death a couple of years ago. He shouldn't have shit talked Frankie Knuckles.

He shouldn't have shit talked Frankie Knuckles. I have been getting on a lot better with my dad over the past ten years. My sister not so much. When my mum became ill it sort of pushed us all together again and I wasn't sure how we'd be able to cope. In a weird way, though, we all began to get on a lot better, mainly because we made an effort not to fall out. But now ... my mum is no longer with us and the dynamics have changed. The familial force field is fluctuating ..... I'm finding it quite hard to deal with.

I put my faith in Belgium, Boyata didnt play, De Bruyne earned me 1pt and Lukaku as capt. gave a measly 4pt return. I'm giving the Armband to Gundogan, hoping that he plays and is familiar on how to score many goals against the English defenders.
