Tonight I'm watching Death of Stalin. On my own, because despite my best efforts, I was unable to convince the other half that she would enjoy it.

Also Alchemy helps with battles early on using potions and poisons. If you have the DLC a homestead in Falkreath, where you can build a garden and greenhouse to grow all the ingredients you need, becomes available at level 15. You get an invite to do a mission for the Jarl. I love Alchemy. I was planning to take out a nest of bandits today, but then I thought 'there's so many ingredients in my pocket that I'd like to experiment with' and whoops! the whole day was gone. I also finally got my own horsey, but it feels like riding a big dog. But I'm always anxious about having a horse because I don't want anything bad happening to it. If I forgot where I parked it, can I call it? Can I fight on horseback? Can it die? Can I revive it? (Praise be to you, Horse God from Breath of the Wild).

I really enjoyed the alchemy in my first play throughs of Skyrim. I'd put some good recipes on here, but you know spoilers and stuff.

If you have all the DLC you'll have dragons, cultists and vamps appearing when you fast-travel. The only bonus is that they'll start fighting each other. The transmute spell is very handy, change iron ore to gold and make gold rings is the quickest way to up your smithing. I've mentioned it before but find the Lovers Stone (near Markarth). It ups all XP by 15%, the earlier you activate it the better. There's a bound bow spell in Fort Amol (in a bucket), but it's tough early on and you need a decent amount of magika to cast it. Stick mystic binding on it and you have a daedric level bow with daedric arrows. Tasty. Probably not worth going for it until you're around level 15. Making iron daggers is a good way to up smithing skill early in the game. Also Alchemy helps with battles early on using potions and poisons. If you have the DLC a homestead in Falkreath, where you can build a garden and greenhouse to grow all the ingredients you need, becomes available at level 15. You get an invite to do a mission for the Jarl. they nerfed the daggers thing pretty early on, as I recall. Think it’s by the value of the things you smith now.

Ffs. For the last 20 minutes we have been again in the grip of a power cut, and Western Power's estimate for fixing is 1-1:30am. I know that they give themselves some extra time, but this wasn't what I had in mind when I was envisaging the evening.
Back to Skyrim then. Thank the Lord Miyamoto for the Switch.

Skyrim: I appear to be about to fight my first dragon at Whiterun.
I don't think I'm ready...
EDIT: I saved to fight another day.

Skyrim: I appear to be about to fight my first dragon at Whiterun. I don't think I'm ready... Don't worry, he's just an overgrown lizard... with wings, admittedly he's got wings... and breathing fire, but that's just a minor detail, really. Power has returned and seems stable since shortly before midnight. Western Power: next time invest in levelling up your stamina, okay? Get a flipping potion for that, will ya?

I was given to understand that you live in the centre of civilisation, a metropolis of culture, industry and technology. But about 80% of your posts display the sort of basic non-electrical hardship that I would expect from a resident of Aleppo* or Norwich. What gives? *Actually probably the oldest continual centre of civilisation, despite the current power supply issues.

I've been to Aleppo, and they had less power cuts than South Birmingham because they weren't relying on Western Power.
