Hello. Chumbles Really hoping you'll feel better soon. A chest infection was the last thing you needed. But you already knew that. Games: didn't go to bed in time as I was again watching a BotW stream at an unreasonable hour. Now paying the price because I'm in a mild panic. OTTM: I'm in a mild panic because tomorrow I'll be traveling to the sunny south of the country as I'll be looking after a cat and a house while the grandchildren and their parents are on holiday, first on the border to Scotland and then crossing said border to visit family. I've cancelled the milk and the mail and I'm trying to remember all the stuff I've got to pack. My train is tomorrow morning and I can already see myself staying up far too late to get things done that I should have done some time ago.

If it's an emergency items 2 & 3 can be left behind.

Everyone knows Tenth Enemy will be up late sorting out her house in Animal Crossing. That's fine. Not a problem in any way shape or form. At All.
Cancel delivery from Tom Nook.

This looks like something out of a science fiction story - it is the ekranoplan. It's a gigantic Ground Effect Vehicle - like a hovercraft but using the wings rather the ground effect, to create than a curtained air cushion. As such it cannot hover, but it can get up to 340 mph carrying: Six fixed-elevation P-270 Moskit antiship missile launchers; 4 × 23 mm PI-23 turrets (2 x 2, 2,400 rounds). Ferociously expensive only one was brought into Soviet service, in the Caspian Sea

I haven’t visited my AC Island in about three months, no wonder it’s full of monsters.
I get my monster fix from Monster Hunter Stories 2, it’s fun, but not a great game. It’s a bit like The Island Of DR Moreau, where I get to do genetic experiments on the monsters. Four stars.

Morning Everyone!
Busy busy busy!
Three solo games of Fortnite last night, but didn't start until almost 1am due to work-related conversations. Won two, including one in which Players 2 and 3 managed a perfectly synchronised mutual killing, whilst I watched cowering behind a rock.
Edit: Hope you're ok Chumbles.
I've just written to Father Christmas asking for an Ekranoplan.
Is Tent looking after a real house and cat? It seems more likely she's looking after an Animal Crossing house and cat.

Is it a tank or a self propelled gun? I have no clue but I could see someone shouting 'Its not a real tank' if someone did that at the imperial war museum. Games, none. TV a little of the Olympics replays. Coverage this time round seems to be missing a lot of the sports. WFH is not so productive, more food and coffee needed. Tank.. and now a word from our sponsor, amipal (honest), Wiki - The M4 Sherman, officially Medium Tank, M4, was the most widely used medium tank by the United States and Western Allies in World War II. ... The M4 retained much of the previous mechanical design, but moved the main 75 mm gun into a fully traversing central turret.

I just got guilted into giving Wikipedia £2.35.
I don't know how I feel about this.
I mean, both stupidly conned into paying for free stuff, and also really miserably tight-fisted, at the same time.

Has anyone read the Adrian Chiles' piece in the G, "Life lessons I’ve learned from boxers? Control your aggression and forgive your foes"? It's not about us, disappointingly.

Right, back to work. I'll see you all at the same time tomorrow for disjointed updates that don't really fit into the conversation.

My neighbour kindly agreed to pick up the jobs that the no-show on Monday failed to do. Although I am pretty certain that I haven't got Covid per se (I may have picked up a 'flu or cold, both of which are viral cousins), but I would be something of a cunt if I risked him, and his family on nothing but the knowledge that the only possible vectors are him and Nursey and both are tested on a regular basis. However, I can't be 100% sure as that is also the same for the 'flu or a cold vectors. On a lighter note, here's a crankcaller book display, inspired by RDR

England's batsmen continue to play like rabbits caught in the headlights ... Tuff-Tuff get your pads on. "What's that you say "I'm not a batsman"? Don't worry, except Root, neither are England's top order - from 138-3 to 160-9. Six wickets. For 22 runs. In 9.5 overs. tbf India's bowlers going by the commentary and the TMS clips bowled brilliantly - the ball Bumrah got Burns with was perfect. Stokes' mental problems are probably related to PTSD; watching the other batters play like donkeys leaving him with the stress of retrieving the situation time after time finally got to him. After Silverwood's ineffectual and incomprehensible selection strategy in the subcontinent tour and now this abject display, he has to go.

My ashtray in the shared courtyard has smashed itself. Hmmnnnn... You know smoking is bad for you, right? I would happily kick the fucking fuck out of a Marlboro Red right now. Should not have quit. Quitters never win, and winners never quit. Guess I'm not a winner.

If nobody has a Red, then a Gauloise Blue or a Lucky Strike would be fine. Or a Camel. Anyone?

England.
Too much poncing around playing rounders in their pyjamas. Clowns.
Excellenty proven by this post from the BBC live commentator, which interestingly was posted at 11.33am, before the capitulation:
'Before this test, balls faced by England's top 7 in 1st class cricket since the NZ 2nd test:
Burns 189 Sibley 271 Crawley 6 Root 0 Bairstow 0 Lawrence 0 Butler 0'
Piss off to play rounders you bunch of donkeys.
