The History of Science Museum is quite small. It's interesting, but I wouldn't expect to spend very long there. I think I spent longer in Blackwells bookshop opposite. I do not know if there are any exhibitions on at the Bodleian Library at the moment, which is also pretty much opposite. Depending on your appetite for museums etc you might want to visit a college or the Ashmolean or Pitt-Rivers museums as well. I've not been to the Pitt-Rivers museum, but it is supposed to be good. Get there before all the loot has to he returned to the countries it was nicked from. Will look into those, the HoS museum is booked for late afternoon so not a lot of time anyway. Cheers

It's got some odd and lovely old scientific instruments, but unless you are planning to sketch something or are obsessed with 18th century science 30-45 mins will be more than enough there.
It's not the size of the Louvre.

Tenthen - it does indeed run smoothly in the bits that matter, pleasantly surprised.
Moderating that No More Herpes comment was uncalled for. Its political correctness gone mad!

I think it was something along the lines of
“I burst in here expecting a review of no more herpes and now I’m disappointed.”
Absolutely no need to moderate that. Not sure if the article actually said no more herpes at some point - possibly that was way it was moderated, hiding the evidence.

Felice Landry - if you read then Blackwell's is a wonderful time soak. I used to drive to the Park&Ride, bus in, and spend from 10 until 4, apart from eating my sandwiches and water outside for about 20m at lunchtime. (Getting a seat, waiting for service took too much time from browsing the shelves)... They used to get readers to write and leave reviews in books on the shelves ... Here's a decent guide, although they could do with hiring amipal for some decent photos! This, the Norrington Room, is a small part of the bookshop:

Neighbour Update! 1) Les seems to have got the message regarding loud music. 2) I have a teddybear on my chest. And you have the nerve to complain about the neighbours noise! God knows what they must think when you're in Macrogol mode; they aren't going to buy excuse 2 or that you're practising your Yoda impression!
