Well, I thought I'd have a nice evening in front of the telly, beer in hand, Ryder cup 4 balls to watch. After a few minutes I had to turn over.

It seems, from the internet, that I need to complete the mines (level 1-4) three times over to even get a hint of a save (short cut). So I'm basically restarting from scratch every 5 mins. And the levels are randomly generated so I can't even get there by memory. Made 1-3 half a dozen times so far. I know you all know this but it's new to me. Also the shopkeeper is a double hard barstard. I pressed square (attack) instead of L1(buy) . He pulverized me in seconds. 4* |

So I joined a Twitch stream to watch the Direct last night that turned into a BOTW stream afterwards which went on until 3 a.m. It felt like Christmas: first you get a lot of surprises and afterwards you play with your toys. As a result of going to bed too late I fell asleep after lunch (seafood sticks & avocado wrap with wasabi mayo and poke salad with more seafood sticks and avocado) today. At least the Direct was good fun. Who would have thought in 1990 or thereabouts that Nintendo would one day be selling Sega Genesis controllers for their own system? I still think that Nintendo are the masters of these advertising broadcasts. The pacing in switching between game footage, voiceover and presenters is just right and makes the whole thing entertaining even if you have no interest in any of the games. During the recent PlayStation Showcase I found myself shouting at the screen "No, you idiots! That's not how you do it" when they ended on God of War directly after revealing Spiderman 2. Sigh. Loved the return of the Squid Researcher, happy about 3D Kirby, most likely on board with the online upgrade (if only now they would also improve the quality of the online), and a huge sigh of relief for Bayonetta 3 (loved the little Astral Chain gag there). Only thing I found meh was the stupid Disney game that I first thought was Kingdom Hearts, and the reveal of the Mario film voice actors that has generated the most headlines was odd but strangely entertaining at the same time. And announcements of two more Directs, two! And Metroid Dread out so soon, I'm not ready. It's just a pity that by Christmas the country will be back to the Stone Age with less innovation and progress than the first time. Ive liked that post instead of bothering to read it. Hope that's ok. |

I've just splatterised a 'Daddy Long Legs' on the bedroom wall, just above my World map. If you're interested, it still has a leg* left, just North of the Laptev Sea.

Evening.
I have donated a day of my life to the Marine Conservation Society, and have been clearing and documenting every bit of plastic on a beach near Felixstowe. I have also caught the sun, although I’m not sure what to do with it now. Surprisingly,trudging the beaches with a rubble sack and a single black rubber glove did not alert the local rozzers to a possible attempt to revive the black power movement, and I made it home unmolested.
It did however take me over 2 hours to get home as every petrol station had queues back out onto the main road. Bastards. I had tried to stay hydrated, and my old mans bladder was in no mood for delays.
Games? Tomorrow. I have an Alaskan bush trip to finish. Watch this space.
