I think amipal is onto something. We all charge massive batteries at work and then use them to power all our devices at home. Household power use massively down, climate crisis adverted.
It seems the jury of games has had a change of heart on Meteoroid Dread - mostly moribund. Too much bumping into EMMIs, too many buttons to press at once. 4 stars.
Last day of work before a week at the seaside. Topped up the car with liquid gold (it must've been at that price) and bought a few provisions to stash in the cooler box to take with us.
I suspect the North Sea might be a tad too chilly for swimming but I'll pack the speedos just in case we go to the indoor pool, it's got slides! Yay! (Imagine Southern Comfort advert guy rather than James Bond).
Games, RE4. Beat that giant Mendez boss thingy and continued to plod on. Now on chapter 1-3.
Bastard. Fish Pie followed by a handful of blueberries, with crumbled Hobnobs topped with about 300g of Yeo Valley Greek Style Honey Yogurt (in offer = £1)
Fish and chips and mushy peas, washed down with a Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc to do justice to BDF. Nice, but clearly I should have booked my table Chez Destry.

I'm hoping to get a bit of the Meteoroids in now because in the past days I have watched hours of other people playing games and none of my own, although I have a deadline for finishing the Meteroids of November 6th. That is because on the 6th there's the Extra Life charity stream where my friend Andrew is going to play, you guessed it, Metroid Dread. So I want to get ahead. After some initial awkwardness with the controls I've been getting more comfortable with them. It remains to be seen whether I'll be hitting the moribund wall.
Speaking of the jury of games and 4 stars, I've been following the fate of the Dread review at The Other Place with interest whilst wearing one of my bespoke hat creations for added conspiracy. There was commenter BryanFury, who alluded to the title of the review when he quipped "What an oddly hollow review." As soon as FRANK saw this bon mot the red mist descended and he nuked the comment from orbit, just to be sure. Poor Bryan, he should have kept to factual statements, such as Super Tennis being a game. This was the sentiment of the author when she twittered the link to her review with the remark: "fans will love it! i unfortunately did not, but it sure is a video game!" Insightful stuff.
What I noticed is that both Keza and Keef who normally retweets such tweets by game reviewers, studiously ignored this offering to the Twitter gods. The Guardian Pick team has also been shunning the review. All I can say is that I would have liked to be a skree on the wall at the editorial meeting.

Vic and Bob on totp1991, I'm starting to now feel old. Not as much as some people here but not looking forward to heading towards crank aged areas. Anything but more GTA.
