Greetings.
Third day this week I'm in the office.
Last day that my IT contact of many years is going to be in as he's retiring. He's a cheeky bar steward but often went above and beyond and actually gave a shit. Drinks on Fri.
My phone just changed that to "actually have a shit" - I mean we are friendly but we never discussed bowel movements at work. He's no babyfark.
TV. Finishing off Fargo on the commute. Games. Casino Heist setups in GTA with my pal.

My movements have been regular and of the desired consistency I thank you.

My Monitor updated itself. And I had my taskbar and wallpaper ... I clicked on Chrome, and started Display Settings when Chrome went to live mode as I couldn't see it. And neither could I see Display Settings *gulp*
I checked the TV settings - nada. I know my GFX card projects 3 virtual screens, but I couldn't grab and drag the screen edges as it was obvious that somehow the view had changed to the side panel! At this point I was panicking a smidge. In the end I created a folder and then I could drag my main display back... but It wouldn't stick...
I'm now on my second pc, using a TV as a PC , you're never sure what the problem is. I won't be in much while I try and solve this. I'm going back to sleep - been working on this since 2.30 a.m.

Morning all,
Time to get personal.
What fps on monitors do people have here? Thinking of upgrading from a very basic monitor I have.

Let's get him. Nail his head to a table lamp or something, it's the only way he will learn.

Morning all, Time to get personal. What fps on monitors do people have here? Thinking of upgrading from a very basic monitor I have. What FPS monitors? Dear god. Do you mean what Hz people have? These days you want a 144hz monitor at either 1440p or 4k and try to get a VA or IPS panel unless you are like me and play competitive FPS games exclusively, in which case go for TN. Make sure you have either Gsync or Freesync too.

Your FPS isn't really determined by the monitor but the graphics card. Your monitor refresh rate and resolution are usually the things to look at. If you're doing graphics/video then the sRGB colour gamut is important for things looking correct. Most gamers have a 144hz refresh rate screen though faster is available I believe? My laptop is 144hz at 1080p. You then get 1440 and then 4k.

I mostly play FPS on the TV as I play on console. Main FPS is COD BLOPS COD WAR, but potentially the upcoming moribund BATTLEDUTY COD BLOPS VAN IN A FIELD 20420.

Don’t you only need a 60hz refresh rate for spreadsheets?

Morning all, in this glorious Age of Optimism I prefer the pessimistic view that an Age of Optimism is inevitable therefore not unique so of no intrinsic value. Also how dare you say morning all that really is too much, I mean you'll be saying afternoon all next or even evening all, shocking. (It's not I just felt like having a rant). Afternoon all ED chat: Also I spent an hour watching my screen as I my spaceship flew 0.14 Light years at multiples of c, riveting stuff. I was also attacked twice by the hunters at light speed and survived, I have only lost 5 ships to them so far. laters.

Playing at a high FPS on a high refresh monitor is one of those things you can't downgrade from. During the summer I hooked my Xbox up to the telly for a game of Fortnite at 60 FPS and it was like a kick in the bollocks.

Hello all
Having a quiet day today - we’re all bloody knackered from the last couple of days of trials and tribulations. The height of excitement for me has been a trip to the post office followed by a spot of shopping in the Co-op. Watching The BFG now.
TVblog; GBBO (good choices on star baker and also the one to leave), and more of The Orville.

Quiet in here today. Been into office/lab and sorted my things then spent an hour or two sorting other people’s issue and decided that was enough for the week so now wfh until I can find out what is wanted and try and cram in a mad panic before December. No games, watched the great British baking show off featuring the German and Italian where neither were star this week.
Do larger excel files refresh at slower rates than smaller ones?

‘Cambridge college returns looted bronze cockerel’ student high jinks on an overseas trip or a good old bit of colonial looting? I guess it’s the same thing for the Bullingdon boys.

Hello monitor refreshers.
At breakfast this morning I discovered that the packet of MS "6 buttermilk pikelets" only contained 5 pikelets. Clearly they think that the customer doesn't count. This country, Brexit now, etc., cont. p. 94.
This morning I also learnt that both Keir Starmer and Keef have tested positive for Covid. Well, sh*t. As much as I would like to follow our noble chancellor into a post-Covid "age of optimism", what's currently going on isn't exactly post-Covid, is it? Although I can see that we need a lot of optimism to think that we will reach the sunny uplands any time soon.
Ganes: Watched BOTW stream until way past my bedtime last night, they got all 120 shrines although finding the last two was tricky. Did a lot of backseat driving on this one. I don't know what the fact that after more than 4 years I can still remember most of the shrines and all of the shrine quests says about me. Final chapter probably tonight after the Sony State of Play.
My own gaming consisted of yet again getting past good ol' Emmi in Meteroid Dreadnought. Mainly it was clinging to the ceiling for dear life. Looking forward to more exploration.
Lunch: hummus, salad, flatbread.
