One of my grandmother's culinary specialities was boiled sheep head. I went off it after I lifted the lid off the pan one time and the eyeless skull broke the surface and stared into my soul.

I have to sleep - the nurse was the Spanish Inquisition* - not only very painful but continually asking "Why we do this" while poking fingers into painful areas - tough to deal with with 10ml of morphine and pain screwing up your brain.
* She was born in Valladolid - "it was the capital of Castille when we conquered the world in 1492" - add your own shonky haccent - it was all too much. I passed out...
