20 yrs from 18 as an estimate. Stopped clubbing really at 41. Not been to many clubs/gigs in the last 9 yrs since the child arrived. According to my notes, your abandonment of clubbing coincided suspiciously with the closing of Cleopatra's on the Great Western Road.

Lazy, I realise you abhor violence and confrontation, but at the very least a comment about his mother would have stopped the singing. Smart cunts* like that generally are total shitebags.
Or if he's obviously off his tits then a word to the bouncer that he was trying to sell you drugs in the toilets would get him thrown out.
*I say this as king of the smart-arse shitebags.

I was never in Clatty Pat's. Furthest west is probably the Garage or G2. Been thrown out of both.

I think the last time I went clubbing was on a stag weekend in Cardiff about 6 years ago. It was ok. There's a part of me that thinks I've still got it in me, but then I remember I'm asleep by 11pm most nights.

Lunchblog: my partner made a delicious leek and potato soup. Really got the spot on this chilly day.
Workblog: I’m currently on a Teams call, listening to our head of function. He is an Olympic-class waffler - talks a lot, says very little. I’ve decided to piss around with the Amiga instead.

I can't do clubbing now or late night gigs (anything beyond midnight). I just about managed Aphex Twin 2 years ago, but I'm not sure I could do it now.
I want a cosy pub with nice seating. good ales, then a curry somewhere close by, then a busier pub where I don't mind standing for a few more ales and maybe a whisky. Then home by midnight.

afternoon I live. that's all. (good rant) other than some more Arcane and Cowboy Bebop on Netflix, followed by E.D. and Halo Beta Multiplayer - (got slaughtered). (bad rant) FYI: Don't trust Octopus Energy, they are full of Merde. that's all that's all.. Bad experience or hooked on their gambling thing when you put in the readings? I made a deal for a DD £40 per month (I have a one bed flat only electric) and before it was even active they made excuses about high units and increased the DD to £272 per month, this is an ongoing issue I have had with them since day one back in August last year. edit: I never win on the roulette wheel BS.

£272 seems bit of a steep rise from £40.

So I heard.

A friend of mine put up in FB a photo of a bunch of guys I know at King Tut's the other night seeing ACR. It was like a photo of a trampy Dads Army in vintage stussy.

In my youth I skipped the clubbing stage and went straight to the cosy pub & curry phase. Old before my time. I went clubbing once, in a stone age themed basement* in Vienna. It was too loud and too full and I didn't like it. *false advertising to attract an archaeological clientele, in my completely unbiased opinion

In 2019, whilst advertising themselves as providing 100% renewable sources of electricity, Octopus' Fuel Mix Declaration (that they are required to publish, but which was quite difficult to find for them) showed that 6% of their power came from coal, 18% from natural gas, and 5% from nuclear. Twats.

They don't seem to be getting good press recently but will they be one of the ones still around soon?

I tried generating power from the hot air produced by the righteous anger of Dr Shenguin. A 100% renewable source.
I need something to stop the components overheating wildly at peak production periods

(bad rant) FYI: Don't trust Octopus Energy, they are full of Merde. that's all that's all.. Cowboy Bebop! I've only watched the first episode of the new one, right after watching the original for comparison purposes. Could have done without the efforts to mimic the anime by sticking the camera into people's faces for extreme close ups. One of the things I noticed in the first episode was that the depiction of the Red Eye drug could be a bit confusing to people unfamiliar with the original. I was expecting e.g. more CGI effects of slowed down bullets. Instead they just stuck a red filter on the camera that looked as if it would majorly obscure your vision rather than heighten your senses and called it a day. Sorry to hear that you've found yourself in the tentacles of Octopus Energy. With energy companies going bust, will they be calamari soon?

SSE have taken lots in DD and then not been willing to give it back, as soon as it came to being below credit they would whack it up and keep a couple 100 to fight over again. Can't remember who it was but they took so much in credit from grandfather they weren't able to give it back as their system had a fit. Anyone fancy river swimming after the recent fines and reports? Now I know why I smelt a bit after a quick dip.

Morning all!
Big Cider Tuesday last night, hence my late arrival.
I used to frequent the clubs as a youth - throbbing drum and bass mostly, fuelled by the vodka rod hull, that precipitated a few hospital visits. Top banana.
Games - no.

And I've never been to a Night Club... quite a few lock-ins at pubs - most notably the Lady Owens Arms in Clerkenwell where the fuzz dropped in in the early hours to have a pint. I didn't even realise how late it was until I started seeing two double tops on the dart board, looked a clock and realised it was 3 a.m.
There was no way to get home to Sidcup at 4, so we stumbled across town to the Market Porter which at that time opened at 6.30 to service Borough Market... I had the full English got on the train to Sidcup and woke up in Dartford feeling like death and finally crawled into bed as my housemates were departing for the lunch time session.

WarHermitblog: I have no idea what someone used to glue together this metal miniature, but I’m on round three of my attempts to break it apart. Round 1 - popped it in the freezer for three weeks, then poured a kettle-full of boiling water over it. Round 2 - it sat in undiluted brown Dettol for 72 hours. The paint came off, but still constructed. Round 3 - sitting in a tin* can filled with IPA**. I will report on my findings.
*stainless-steel **isopropyl, not India pale ale

There was some other chat but it was all within the realms of drugs non-sense.

Drinks blog: Last night I drank a can of IPA. Dunno what brand it was, but Jesus, it's good stuff, but the hangover was a bit of a bastard.
