Shame the devil won't also teach them reading, writing, maths etc. Would save me the hassle of having to help them with homework.

So to get back to the CBI speech debacle. Was it a dead cat to stop folk talking about the NHS vote? Are we giving him that much savvy? I've read before the bluster etc is all a show but surely he's not that astute?
Anyway. Games. Marvellous. Skantin' for a coffee.

Morning all,
Logged on at work to find that we have an urgent companywide briefing with the new boss this morning.
Somehow I don't think it's about secret santa.

Morning
Such is the way with new bosses. There is always some territorial pissing to be done so he/she can be seen to be making their mark about the place.

Pretty cold here in my secure chamber here on the ground floor of Chumbles' Mansions... I sleep better (THREE HOURS) this morning, but if I move my arthritic carcass at all quickly, I am reminded that I am not like other mortals. it is the slowest place in my domain, so it takes a while before I summon my thoughts Use the force MrTiddles , and if that fails, nut them

Workchat!
Having an entertaining discussion with a vendor as we picked up an unexpected error in their software's database.
Their response?
Their devs were so sure that there would never be a time when the db was error-free that they didn't bother to program that option into the error checking software. The end result being that as soon as we get the db squeaky clean, it throws the equivalent of a div/0 error and falls over.
Muppets.

Not as cold out as yesterday but feels colder in here, think the grey sky rather than blue is doing that. Bit of French ass Vikings. Should try and finish storyline for fc6 soon. Baking chat or is that a few days away while people catch up?

Morning Such is the way with new bosses. There is always some territorial pissing to be done so he/she can be seen to be making their mark about the place. The Swiss say that the reason their economy is so strong is that they don't succumb to the urge to reorganize periodically, because at 20% of the cost of running an endeavour will be diverted away from the principal activity. Back when BAe changed their head honcho, he decided to change the company's philosophy root and branch. They retrained every single executive above team level in the huge organization with courses in expensive conference venues, with equally costly CBT courses (I still have the installation discs*) for every single employee. It was a farce; the technical guys paid lip service, the execs continued acting in much the same way. 20% is the least of it. *That was 18 months of my life - I kept telling the guys who commissioned it that you can use CBT for training things, processes and transferring information, but you have to use people to inspire and motivate. It was wasted

In my experience most new bosses for large teams are a disaster. They are best keeping things as they are and slowly changing things to adapt with the times. Unfortunately a lot of them get the gig because they makes the right noises about cutting costs and finding efficiencies and when these guys get control of the wheel it's usually a total shit show.
And yes, the Swiss are good at cutting out the nonsense.
Some mild weather here today and I have to go to exotic Blackburn soon for a work thing.
Some PUBG yesterday.

Not as cold out as yesterday but feels colder in here Ask Admin to turn the heating up. I find this hypnotic (if that's the right word). And it does make you feel warmer if though you aren't. Apparently there are channels on YouTube that just constantly stream similar non stop.

I'll be watching Gamesmaster. Got it ready to be taped later.
New Bosses:
This is why working for a Japanese company is bad. They shift personnel roughly every four years to keep everyone fresh and interested within new roles. Most of the time the experience and rapport built up is lost and the first year is just training people to do something they have no clue about. A terrible way to run a business in my opinion.

My experience of top level management bods is they come in with an agenda to do a big restructure purely so they can put it on their cv. They then make sure they move on within 2 years so they don't have to deal with the consequences.

hi...
You ok?
What's going on? ...
We have a spite squirrel, visiting our garden. S/he has chewed through the rope of a hanging chair themed bird feeder ... There wasn't any food on it. Now it is destroyed ... A while back s/he broke open a nut cage themed bird feeder and made away with the plastic lid.
It's the intelligence of it - the malice - the low cunning.
What next?
Murder? ...
Christmas
We're staring down the barrel of Christmas. Not sure what we're going to do ...

Hi! Games? No. Telly? No. Ottm? I went to a 'gig' last night, for the first time in a long time. It was a Swedish band called 'Monolord'. I am a bit worried about what it might have done to my eardrums and internal organs. Decent bag of chips on the way home though. 4 stars.
