Morning all.
I am doing all the running around this morning. Dropping boy to school, taking partner to work, going to the farm shop, picking up a Christmas pudding from a friend… all the things.
TVblog: Seinfeld.
OTTM: the rest of the evening was me either watching YouTube bits, or painting miniatures. I have no real urge to watch anything else at the moment, other than to maybe watch Band if Brothers again.

Morning.
Work getting busy again now. I tend to open Outlook emails up and leave them open until done, but now there are more than 50 or so it has become an unmanageable mess.
No games. I feel like playing a game like Cyberpunk but not Cyperpunk. It has to look great and be FPP.

I watched the Gamesmaster reboot last night. I quite enjoyed it. I dislike Trevor Mcdonald generally, but thought he nailed it. Watching it was made all the more enjoyable by the pref mam's constant commentary of "Shit. This is fucking dreadful. What are you watching" etc.

Marnin'
Gamesmaster night tonight!
Been plugging away at Resi Evil 8 after zipping through 7. It's really rather good. Those lycans are right bullet sponge bastards though. I also don't deal with jump scares very well so I've put in an order for lots of new Christmas pants.
OTTM Have a cold (or colds) that have now lasted four fucking weeks. Removing the head and flushing through with bleach seems to be the only viable solution. Thank you, Donald

Hello. On the way into work. Had to drop the child at School first. There are less trains now so I'm only getting in about half ten. The Flexi I'd built up getting horsed this week.
Wee bit of AC.NH last night. Making room for crops. Watched the first half hour of Get Back on the train. Great stuff.

Maybe I'm just getting old and miserable but I found myself agreeing with the new powers. People who protest by chaining themselves to something are causing a nuisance so should have such a threat to deter them and the offence for blocking transport constructions makes sense too. As far as I can see there is nothing to deter people from peacefully protesting in general. I suggest the writer visits Iran or Russia to protest peacefully and then see how comparable it is.

Some people can now be banned from protesting. And you can be banned for previous ‘protesting offences’. It doesn’t sit right with me. It’s bad enough that you can be arrested just for gathering in a group. A bad business.

To be honest I'm just glad that I can feel a flicker of indignance.
It's nice to feel alive.

I called my character in Red Dead Online a 'hobo' yesterday, in a text / group message exchange. One of the other men said that they preferred to be called homeless people, or person without fixed abode. I couldn't tell if he was joking.
Is 'hobo' hate speech? Am I going to find myself on the wrong side of history?

All those protesters should be glued together and shoved in a Gulag for 20 years. I think that's reasonable.

We can be banned if we have previously committed “protest-related offences”. Thanks to the draconian measures in the rest of the bill – many of which pre-date these amendments – it will now be difficult to attend a protest without committing an offence. Or we can be banned if we have attended or “contributed to” a protest that was “likely to result in serious disruption”. Serious disruption, as the bill stands, could mean almost anything, including being noisy. If you post something on social media that encourages people to turn up, you could find yourself on the list. Anyone subject to one of these orders, like a paroled prisoner, might be required to present themselves to the authorities at “particular times on particular days”. You can also be banned from associating with particular people or “using the internet to facilitate or encourage” a “protest-related offence”.A bad business.

Didn't George Monbiot get arrested in the previous year or so for protesting and so he in particular is affected by these measures?
If so aren't journalists supposed to declare these kind of conflicts of interest?

...and your point is?
[EDIT] I should point out that I'm not having a go at Lazy here, merely the author.

I enjoyed watching people celebrating yozakura in Ueno park back in 2014. Students sat with teachers, workers with bosses, under the cherry blossom on tatami mats.

I suppose I'm looking at things from a self-centred perspective.
A few years ago I went to where Donald J. Trump landed, in his helicopter, in London. I stood with other people and heartily 'booed' him. If what George Monbiot says is right then, were the new laws in place, I could have been arrested for making noise and forbidden from attending future protests - having to report to the police to show I'm not involved. I know it's unlikely that would happen. I just don't like that it would be possible in principle.
The right to boos.

Hello.
Watched most of the first Beatles episode. You can literally watch McCartney writing Get Back on his bass from nothing. Lennon seems hilarious. Don't think Ringo says a single word. They are all quite dismissive of Harrison. McCartney seems like the only one with a plan, and the others seem to resent him for it. It's quite sad really.
Protest chat: the problem is that the 'offences' are very loosely defined and the police can more or less decide on the spot if you've broken the law. Eg you are making too much noise. It all has a bit of Mega City One potential.
