I came here just to have a moan about England's chances tonight in the first ashes test, but I think I'll save it til we're 26-4 (about 12.40am). 14-4 by 12.20 a.m. - Our lads are like rabbits in the headlights; I only hope it's not as bad as this: Nursey is late, which is an absolute bummer* *I am going to have to take yet more morphine

Morning all!
More monsters hunted last night - smashed a somnacanth with a big thunder sword. Perhaps a metaphor for... smashing a monster with a big thunder sword. I'm still only hunter rank 3 but I'm shooting for the big leagues.
Wet and windy - and that's just the weather!
That comment on the Halo review - I see their point, in that games are overly dominated by male main characters, but refusing to play a game because of a male protagonist seems a bit OTT, especially when the whole game has revolved around that character for over a decade.
No chess for me last night but I did manage to reach the heady heights of second place in a game on Sunday. Went arcanists and nearly had it but was pipped to the post by an all yordle build.

Grim news, Faceless. Liver cancer is a bastard. Took my dad almost 30 years ago in his 50s. My condolences.

Chess used to be known as 'the game of kings', but it is well known to have been supplanted in the affections of royalty the world over by Online Boggle.

I would have hoped for a little time in gaol, pour encourager les autres. I hope that at the least part of the plea deal is that he's going to snitch on his dealers. But we are not in an ideal world, and a lot of these collectors live in countries with weak jurisdiction. Academic experts who are willing to collaborate with the dodgy dealers are paid a pittance - £100 or so for identifying an object that's eventually going to sell for thousands of pounds, but that's still attractive pay for university or museum employees, as long as they can beat down their conscience. Antiquity dealer is one of the most lucrative and interesting jobs on the planet. Job requirements: willingness to travel, a winning personality, and being prepared to sell one's grandmother, or rather loot her grave.

Anyone want a 1980s cremation urn? One careful user. £70k or near offer.
Actually I think my grandmother's ashes were scattered. Certainly I never saw an urn. So that won't be a nice little urrner

Also don't tell Shenguin. It's not so much he'd be upset. More he'd demand a cut of the proceeds.

You get all these chess people dont you. Chess this, chess that. Let's have a bit of Knight, let have a bit of Castling. Ooh, that's a snazzy En passant. Oh this smells of, I don't know, Checkmate. Sometimes you just want to say, sod all this chess, just give me a game of backgammon.

Well we have to deal with the personality hand we are given. I'm pretty sure I could sell a small pyramid scheme to a wealthy billionaire (not the poor sort)

Love a bit of the Backgammon. School run, bit blowy out.
Tried to snow earlier but thankfully came to fuck all.

Windy af in these parts now. Fully expecting the horizontal rain to make its way through the window seals again. I was out in the car late last night on some rural roads and was skidding all over the shop. Top fun.

Sorry to hear that Faceless, that's no age to go especially when there are young kids.
We are having the odd gusty spell now, rain comes and goes. I am not looking to walking the kids back from school and nursery. I am on the fence about getting Halo tomorrow.

It's small and ancient, but I'm not sure there is much of a market. Maybe we could wrap it in a bandage and say it fell off Tutankhamun?

Is that old Skyrim with added fishing? Why fishing though, even ass vikings has it. Finding it same too, alternating clearing areas with powering through missions, Ireland and Paris kept it a little different. May pop to Valhalla/the other place for a change. Or go back to fc6 or watchdogs Tory party future dream.

Fishing and an aquarium for your house in Skyrim. I'm scared to begin it all again.

Perhaps a change of diet? Personally I favoured very thinly sliced, flash fried in Cointreau, served with haricots vérts and creamy mashed potatoes...

Christ Almighty, Faceless hasn't been online since provoking The Sympathy this morning. Helluva ballsy move, doing that and then ignoring the The Sympathy. Did I say a ballsy move? I meant a cunt-move.
Edit: Sorry, I typed "I hope Faceless is ok", but autocorrect changed it.
I hope Faceless is ok.
