FFS... I can't bear to listen to the Ashes any more. By now you will know that I think Root is a terrible captain. Dropping Stuart Broad!? But also he's bereft of even Plan B and he's twitchy - contrast him with Morgan. It puts pressure on his players when he should be taking pressure off them. I will lose what teeth I have left if I listen any more. Sack Silverwood; and find another captain. And the ECC have a ton of blame for overloading the schedule. Bah! I'm going back to sleep

Weather looks a lot calmer today.
First Ashes Test looks a certain win for the Aussies now.

Hi.
Games? No.
Telly? A couple of episodes of 'Quarry'. I am starting to enjoy it now, though it is very bleak. They cancelled it after 8 episodes anyway.
Ottm? My car won't start. Fortunately I live about 100 metres from a garage. Unfortunately they are notoriously expensive and suspiciously vague.

Battery? Send Tids, they won't try anything with him. If they do, they will be even more 'vague' after he's done...

Morning troupe.
Woke up in time to see the last 30 mins of the cricket, masochist that I am. Loving the 'accidental' murderball from Wood that could have simultaneously cracked Head's wrist and jaw. I feel there will be some payback for that one when the field gets reversed.
Games - no Office - no In the 'study' with 2 dogs - yes

Morning toupee,
I'm on holiday today to do my Christmas shopping. Unfortunately the PM is still off work sick so I can't just sit at home playing games, randomly ordering stuff online. To town then.
Still Game can be very funny. I came to it late as I assumed it would be pish.
No TV, No games.

Morning all,
Er indoors is watching 'And just like that'. Early reactions are not promising, it's as if England's batting line up have written it. But it lasts longer.

I have done all my Xmas shopping online, I cannot even remember the last time I went into a department store. I'm not even sure Sheffield has a high street anymore as Debenhams and John Lewis closed. Maybe Argos is still there.

I read that as early erections. And it still made sense.

Morning
Cricket result is inevitable I suppose. I thought some of the bowling was excellent though. Really good performances from Stokes and Robinson with plenty of opportunities created. Leach got the thick end of it as expected. You could say he 'sucked'? Maybe got a bit of blood in his mouth after that.
I could watch that Robinson/Green wicket over and over again.

Morning all!
What fresh hell will today bring?
TVblog: Seinfeld.
OTTM: I then spent the rest of my evening doing the following: Taking my self-portrait-365 photos of the day Painting more 40k miniatures Reading a Kim Stanley Robinson novel Going back through my sp365 shots to pick the best of the day
Christmasblog: at lunch yesterday, the question “I trust the boy has got something for me for Christmas?” was asked. Erm, yes! Of course! [returns home and frantically starts browsing for gifts]

Morning
Very very tired. And have an inkling we might not manage to win the first test now. Some decent bowling at times which on another day would have got more reward. Now to do a rain dance.
OTTM, It's been suggested that I might have to commence some work related visits to that there London next year. Are the streets still paved with gold?

hi
I went to a supermarket last night. I spent an enjoyable half hour there. I have a personal rule not to buy alcohol from Monday to Thursday so went home and rootled out a bottle of wine from a box in the wardrobe.
I ate a baked potato and watched three episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Games
Red Dead Online ...
Not much going on. I perfected the lassoo. I lassooed farmers and passing wayfarers. I pulled them round fields. I tried to hoist one to my horse but it wasn't possible.
For the 'wild' west the land of Red Dead Online is actually very effectively policed. There must be about 30 'lawmen' for every square mile. And ... no matter where you go - no matter how remote you think you are - if you commit a crime there's always someone hiding nearby, on a horse, ready to ride away as a witness.
