Thanks all… it is indeed my birthday!
Unexpected influx of outlaws meant I seem to have missed tea though, never mind… it was to have been leftover curry. It will make a cracking lunch tomorrow.
Spent the afternoon making a half gallon of green tomato chutney, as I needed to cull the tomato plants to make space in the greenhouse for the tender pots. House has a definite vinegar aroma now. Also made a dozen sausage rolls while the chutney was reducing down. Some drinks have also been consumed, and Hawkwind has been played at a volume not usually expected on a quiet Monday afternoon.
Sister bought me a Drosselmeyer nutcracker. Swedish. Built like a Volvo. So far I’ve not found a single nut it hasn’t despatched with Scandinavian style and efficiency. 4 stars.
