Blog advice.
If I'm chopping up a broccoli and cauliflower, boiling them until they go all floppy. What is the safe freezing procedure?

All kicking off in Kazakhstan. I think it's great that Russia has an MP called Leonid Kalashnikov getting involved. I think he is a grandson of Mikhail Kalashnikov, the inventor of the AK 47. Possibly a nephew or great nephew. Is he? No mention of this on Wikipedia or a lazy Google search.

You can also cook them from frozen. You can also throw them in the bin and have a steak instead.

Can someone help me figure out a response to “You do realise that it’s 231 people that died “within 28 days of a positive test” don’t you. The cause of death could be anything and it certainly is not ‘334 deaths a day’”?
I feel a covid-sceptic keyboard-warrior is hoping for an easy win. And do not wish to afford them that luxury.

There’s only so much you can get from the ‘within 28 days of’ figure. I mean you could say 300 people died within 28 days of eating a Pot Noodle. But if the numbers are rising and the Pot Noodles are proliferating then you’re going to have a problem.

I suppose it's put that way to capture people who die of underlying conditions exacerbated by covid? Someone who dies of asthma plus covid might have asthma on their death certificate, but wouldn't have died without the covid. Surely they are not including people who get hit by buses in those figures. If cause of death is traffic accident, nobody is asking whether that person had a positive covid test.

Traffic collision, accident implies no one was to blame.

*I'm not sure where this comes from. Ah yes, that was me quoting the Guardian number, which subsequently updated to a lower figure.

Surely they are not including people who get hit by buses in those figures. If cause of death is traffic accident, nobody is asking whether that person had a positive covid test. Actually, I think the Covid deaths includes deaths from all causes within 28 days of a positive test. However, it's probably still an under-estimate of Covid deaths. It's definitely an under-estimate of deaths if you include indirect Covid deaths, e.g. from people who die because they've not had surgery because the hospitals are fucked. There are also a significant number of people who die from Covid after more then 28 days after their test, and don't get counted in the Covid deaths.

Everything’s an accident.
A monstrous joke.

Okay; thanks all.
Basically, what it’s saying is excessive deaths 28 days after a positive covid result. So that’ll be a mix of people who have actually died from covid, as well as those who have died of other causes possibly caused by having covid.
