I've just spent an hour looking for a game from the 1970s where 1 player is the shark and the others individual swimmers desperately trying to make it to one of 3 beaches. Each swimmer had detachable arms and legs which sharky could bite off... that would slow the swimmer down, and sharky could go for more bites of the same swimmer (letting the other swimmers escape) or nip bits off the others! You have probably guessed that as sharky your optimum strategy was to go for a group and slow them down sufficiently to eat them all! Our twist was to simulate blood in the water by sharky having to drink a shot of alcohol every time a limb was munched! The nearest modern game appears to be Jaws Strategy Board Game for Adults & Kids Age 12 Years Up

I've got that game - the modern one. I thought it was quite good but the rest of the household disagree so its only been played the once.

Morning
Wordle 205 6/6
⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟨⬜🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
Phew!
Terrible nightmares:
The already mentioned Jaws. Tales of the Unexpected - the one with the attempted escape from prison by teaming up with the grave digger and hiding in a coffin - still gives me the willies now. Might explain my claustrophobia. I can't even get in the back of a 3 door car.
OTTM, Scubar's alive?

Yeah, started off with 3s and 4s, now 5s and a 6. Tomorrow, I'll wait til I've had booze, that helps.

Tuffers film reviews:
Last night I watched two fillums.
Limitless. Seen it a few times. I hope someone invents NZT. I'll be first in the queue for volunteers for clinical trials. 4*
Peckerhead. WTAF? Wannabe punk band on tour. DAEMON. Blood and gore. Nonsense. 4*

I've got that game - the modern one. I thought it was quite good but the rest of the household disagree so its only been played the once. Above all, beyond anything else, I most miss playing decent board games (and D&D tbh) with a group of convivial fellow gamers. My retirement was supposed to have been moving to Gloucestershire and spend it quietly reading books and playing the stock of excellent board games that my best friend and I had bought over the decades. RJW and I had been very close friends since 1973. Then all this leg crud started and 6 months later he'd died and I was in hospital fighting for my life. I feel really sorry for guys whose gaming nights have disappeared. I like to hear of other people playing games even if I can't. Fuck Covid-19 and its greek letters. I need cheering up

Hmm. I can't actually remember any particularly traumatising, age-inappropriate film or television scenes from my childhood.
That's because I wasn't allowed to watch any. I had to wait until age 14 before I was able to afford a small television that enabled me to watch as many horror films (or indeed, any films) as I could. Which wasn't very many.
We never had a VHS player and I watched many horror films with a gaggle of other teenagers at friends' houses where inevitably someone's little brother would turn on the slo-mo repeat for the gory scenes, only to be threatened with eviction from the room by their mother.
As a result(?) neither horror nor violence on film tends to leave any impression on me and I don't care for it. Maybe it's turned me into a Japanese sex dungeon Wordle nerd psychopath.
I do remember the morning in school after every kid had watched Jaws on television the night before. Some kid drew some water, a boat, and a severed leg on the blackboard before double maths and we all agreed that it was a good conversation starter on a Monday morning.

I played a board game the other day. Twilight Imperium. It took about 9 hours to finish. I won. It was ok.

I played D&D at school, I've still got the 50+ metal figurines in a large Danish Biscuit tin. Free to a good home, if anyones interested.
P+P extra.
Seriously though, please take them off my hands.

Send them to Crank, he'll enjoy hopping around the house with his wee lass shouting "You've crushed my dwarf!" at 6.30 in the morning ... And it's a good night from me as it's Nursey day tomorrow ...

I'd quite like the biscuit tin. There are no biscuits left. I ate them decades ago, so, for you...I want 50 large (cash only).
