Morning Everyone! I'm at work, in an office, having some beers with other people. Slightly difficult to know if it's work or a party. Are you enjoying yourself? If not then it might be a party. We've moved locations, still at work, more people, more beer, I'm no longer working on a spreadsheet, and I am enjoying myself much less. I think it's now a party. There are Covid mitigations in place and being adhered to.

Morning all!
I watched bob feet last night too. It was a bit shite. The weird motorbike things felt very out of place. Is it a reference to some hip new Star Wars lore from a comic/web animation or something? They need to replace bob with Matt Berry and just let him let rip instead of having him make some pretence of actually trying to pronounce the weird space names properly as the rather boring robot he is at the moment.

My first car was a red Ford Escort 1.3 Popular, bought from a deceased relative for three hundred quid.
It had a manual choke, and didn’t like the cold. Or the wet. And whilst showing off to a work colleague, I bashed it into my boss’s car, leaving my Ford with an indented headlight.

I thought it was alright. I didn't think the latest Toast series was all that great either, except the bit in every episode where Matt Berry said 'Star Wars movieeee'.

Toast is shit. By far the worst thing Matt Berry has ever done.
I have been watching the Vampire show he did, that's actually pretty good.

I have always enjoyed the challenge of a manual choke. Something of a black art balancing the mixture as everything warms up.
In my dreams, i'd have a rat-rod, with a Coffman starter. Nothing says bad-ass like loading a 4-bore shotgun shell into your dashboard, instead if this dweeby key-turning malarkey.
A large havana cigar and shades as optional sartorial extras.

Oh well, back to the generic 15 year old German forest burner. <sigh> Sorry Greta.

My first car was a Cavalier Mk1, but I didn't pass my test until I was 30; I rode a motorcycle until then and my first 'bike was a CZ250. It had an automatic clutch which effectively interrupted the transmission of power to the back wheel for half a second - when it dropped back in you could fishtail or do a wheelie. If you were cornering when this happened you'd be sliding across the road on your side. Leathers were mandatory. As it leaked oil and looked agricultural it wasn't a babe magnet.

Is that your actual bike Chumbles ? I note the lack of a clutch lever…. And cissy-bar, if you wanted something for the babes to hang on to….. Ah….

I am now a full-time CD ripper. I am using Exact Audio Copy on sheep2's recommendation, and it is completely baffling. I'd probably be better at this stuff if I hadn't spent my 20s touring the country on my sweet hog and meeting loads of hot chicks.

It has a user interface from Windows 95. Hundreds of options, none of them explained. You had to download two extra programs to save FLACs. On the plus side I can now rip terrible 80s and 90s singles as 192-24 bit FLACs for a rich compelling sound. It's a much bigger time waster than EAC as well.

So all this FLACing and burning is the musical equivalent of buy games and not playing them?
<edit>Actually just read the comment FLAC is a format not an activity, I think, anyway you get the point.

Yes. Well sort of. There is a lengthy period of saving music, during which time you can't listen to it. Once it is done though it is excellent. Like having your own Spotify, but with only your shit music choices on it.

Ripping and uploading turns out to be only moderately impossible. Getting album art to display is where the real money's at.
