I started with the PS3 when that acted as a server. I discovered I could play MP3s through it. I've had all my music on a disc since 2013. Just add each new item now. It's very convenient for listening. I've got a DAP in the car as well so I put stuff on a micro SD card and listen there.
I've got a lot of old concerts and bootlegs that won't ever be on Spotify. Some of them are even listenable.

Ripping and uploading turns out to be only moderately impossible. Getting album art to display is where the real money's at. Mostly I play through a Marantz streamer which doesn't show album art. I've got a streamer in the bedroom which does show art, but I mostly listen in the lounge. I don't think i've listened to a cd since 2016.

It wasn’t a packet mix, but had a senior moment and started it as I’d do an omelette mix. 3 eggs ffs. No flour.
Realised, but rather than chuck it in the bin I added flour etc and carried on.
End result was a bit of a soggy bottom.
Top tip… don’t use 3 eggs in a pudding batter.
On the plus side, the dogs loved it.

Someone I worked with also ran a second hand record site where he bulk bought albums and resold them online, but not before ripping them to disk. He offered to copy me the recordings to a portable drive. I now have hundreds of albums. (70's and 80's).
All ripped in wma format. *
* dickhead.

Audition is incredible. If you're ripping vinyl it can remove pops and crackles really well.
Adobe wanting a monthly fee though is criminal.

I don’t rip CDs. I buy ‘em. Occasionally…
I dig the artwork. The problem is that one in three CDs starts skipping in my CD player, usually right at the end when I’ve drifted into slumberland.
My best purchase was an internet radio. Thousands of radio stations. Music out the wazoo.

iTunes is probably the least favourite software I have ever used. It is actively evil.
I'd rather have a hacked copy of McAvee that lets all the scammers through.

As an iPhone user, but don’t have much choice. But there is something I appreciate about the software. It’s easy to use - pop a disc in, and tracks are copied and converted without any need to prod and poke them. Ultimately it’s a front-end for an SQL database, for an MP3/AAC converter, and a CD writer. I do wish it was faster than it is though, though that’s more to do with modern system bloat than anything.

I liked iTunes until I bought an iPhone and it wouldn’t work with the iTunes I had on my Apple laptop. It would have worked with iTunes on an old Windows laptop.
It made me feel bad about Apple.

Of course you have a choice. There are always choices. Buy a non apple phone. Leave the devil alone. Don't go to the Downing St party.
I have an iTunes account. Some music I wanted is only available via iTunes.
When I set up an ipod for my mum the storage was odd. Albums were split up and not stored together.
I also don't like the proprietary formats. I have a nifty little program that converts everything to FLAC. It's very good.

I just kicked a massive spoder up the arse, size of a beer mat. An initial gentle tap didn't give dividends, it just gave me the 'look'. So, dear readers, I booted it into a flowerpot.

My first car was a Cavalier Mk1. Mk1 Cavalier buddies! I bet you had the GL though. Nope. Second hand, £500 which I bought as a fill-in because my new employer wouldn't give me a company car* until I had driven for a year. I loved that car, but the live battery lead was rubbing against the brake hydraulic pipe. I've told this story before - when I popped the bonnet the lead had frayed through and that part ofthe engine was glowing and sparking like a light bulb. Long story short, it was written off by a shady mechanic who 'took care of the paperwork' for me.I ended up getting parking tickets from all over the country. *Audi 80 - broke down 16 times in 6 months 😡
