What's everyone having for lunch?
Me? I'm having a baked turnip. Maybe with beans 'n cheese.

Not sure yet, possibly a cheese sandwich. I bought some fake meat slices yesterday, and forgot to make myself a sandwich with them this morning.

Vlad thinks he can stop our potato imports from the New World. What he doesn't realise is that Britain has enough turnips to last ten Blitzes. I'll be toasting my health with a cup of tea and a turnip when he's long gone.

We have an 'Oddbox' delivery. Every week we get a box filled with vegetables too 'odd' to have made it into supermarkets. That's the theory. Sometimes we get a bunch of beetroots because no-one else wanted to buy them. Chicory and white cabbage also turn up quite a bit. This week it's turnips. I'm wondering if it's partly because it's Burn's Night tomorrow. Neeps. Turneeps? Is that a thing?
Anyway I'm looking forward to my turnip. Salt, butter, bit of white pepper. Lovely jubbly.

Last night I watched 'Joker' on Bezos Prime.
I enjoyed it. 4 stars.

We watched the last two episodes of 80 Days Around the World, and an episode of Fargo. Broadly enjoyable. I fell asleep during Fargo but I think I got the gist of it.

I had some fantastic news yesterday. The pm, for my birthday, has booked us a few days in the Cairngorms. Boodiful. We're going to be staying by Ben Macdui. Home of the legendary 'Big Grey Man'.
I can't wait. Pumped x 10.

lazybones A Russian sub was spotted there last year. There are undersea cables in that area. My thinking is that the presence of Russian naval assets at that location and at this particular time, with things the way there are on the borders of Ukraine, are to: A) disrupt NATO comms between Europe and North America B) keep RN and RAF forces closer to the Home Islands. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLv9GUmfs-MPutin probably doesn't want half his navy taken out by the splash and the rest unfit for duty through laughing too much

Last night I watched 'Joker' on Bezos Prime. I enjoyed it. 4 stars. This is a dangerous opinion to share on the Internet. Apparently if you're a guardian reading lefty type you're supposed to not watch it, but hate it anyway because of incels and trump. Or something. I thought it was great tbh

What the Scots call 'neeps or turnips is what southern softies call swede I'm really not sure. I had a look at the information sheet that came with the box but there is no mention of swedes or turnips. It's a north European turnip of some sort.

Watched S1 of "Agent Carter", really good, don't know why it took me so long to get around to it. 4*

Morning clunkers fans!
Why can't we all just get along with our brothers and sisters in Moscow? I say invite them over for a week for drinks, maybe some dancing, definitely some singing.
Lunch, soup. I have a soup range to make any soup lover green with envy. I already had some Baxters Oxtail in, plus 3 (THREE) different flavors of cup-a-soup. Then I popped into B&M Bargains yesterday, where Heinz soup was on offer, 4 (FOUR) tins for £3. I plumped for a lentil, a chicken, a tomato and a minestrone. I can't decide.
OTTM, watched some SPORTS last night. Flicked between the T20 and the NFL ball game. 4*

Is it me or is Wordle entirely based on luck? So long as you follow the recommendations set out by the green and yellow squares, the word you pick is simply a random choice from all those that match that particular set of constraints, and may or may not be correct or reveal more information, purely by chance.
Amazing performance by myself above though, I've put the rest of you to shame. Tremendous skills.

I think my turnip was a swede. It was a kind of orangey colour when I cut into it.
Delicious. As baked roots go. Really first class.
