I've been sent home as there were too many folk in the office. As this is 1.5hrs out of my working day and not my own time it's kind of worth the £12.50 train ticket i spent getting there. A women who was in the office all day Monday with me told us her kid had covid. She phoned in today surprisingly with covid. I wore a mask most of that day but there you go. The rules are fucking bonkers... of course she was going to get it. Despite neg lft that day. This is the second time someone with children has tried to give me Covid. The Council historically (a loooong time ago) made married women give up their jobs. They need to go back to those times. Married or otherwise men and lots of single women. Simpler times. Turning the library into a sex pest haven? A bold move |

I am mildly considering the entirely improbable DITTO for a start tomorrow, but I don't want to end up waking my neighbours up screaming "Why did you use a doubled consonant, you moronic cunt" when it returns 5 blanks. |

Today was the first day I've ever made a conscious decision to eat swede.
It is incredibly dense. I realise you may already know this ...
It held out against the heat of the oven for over two hours. I'm still not convinced it was cooked ...

I think you need to use a machete to chop it up first, boil it for half an hour - remove skin - boil it for another hour, bash it with rocks until it surrenders. Then you boil it for another half an hour*, add a load of butter, salt and pepper, mash it. And eat it... That's why the Scots love it (up until this * point they deal with their washing the same way - the machete is optional) it's manly man food and it proves they are tough. |

Just peel them like a (slightly tough) potato and then boil. They need slightly longer than potatoes, but you can pretty much treat them the same, you absolute wimp.
Edit: Swedes, I mean, to be clear. Not not-children.

As someone who self-identifies as a raver I found the article on the Guardian about indie kids slightly annoying. I'm not sure why, I just find that whole aesthetic a bit off putting. Slapped on a hench DJ Hype mixtape (no MC) from the early 90s as a panacea. Lets ave it!
