You can't beat a good Prawn Cocktail starter. I made them for the clan as our Xmas meal starter this year. Big king prawns, smoked salmon, lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, seafood sauce (jar), sprinkling of cress on top, served with a wedge of lemon. Boodiful.
OTTM, 1984 is the best 80s year.

I'm not a fan of BT. Really not a fan. Their customer service is appalling*. Their billing is appalling to the point of being almost fraudulent. 3rd criticism for rhetorical purposes should go here. Would I move to Plusnet? No no I fucking would not. I 'm sure Plusnet are fine, my parents use them and their internet seems to be ok. * 11 years since I left them I am still pissed off about the hidden charges for a service wasn't using. I mean literally they charged me £10 a month for not making enough calls. I was supposed to be on a £19 a month bill with free evening and weekend calls and internet bllling. I discovered they were taking £29 a month from my account. When I queried it they told me without a hint of irony and apology the extra £10 was because i hadn't used the line enough and it was in the small print and no they wouldn't refund it. Which was fair enough I suppose. I took the hint. Astonishing how close our experience is, although I ditched them only 3-4 years ago. I won't repeat your points above billing and customer service, only to say that even big companies have problems with their mis-'managed services'.. I had an extra line installed - two numbers (work, personal)* from 99 to 04, when I stopped working from home. Then I cancelled the work line. When 60mbps lines became available I got that... endless arguments because they never got the speed above 33mbps. Why? Because the extra 'line' was only an additional number and the line was split in two; when I discontinued the extra 'line' it was allocated to some other fucker. It took me 2 years to get a new 60mb capable line after I instructed a solicitor and threatened them with legal action. I NEVER got any compensation for paying 2 rentals for 1 line ... When Virgin became available 360mbps, BT tried to con me that their service would essentially be the same - they quoted their own prices excluding VAT and the cost of the line rental! It was actually £20 more expensive for a much reduced bandwidth AND they ALWAYS hiked their prices mid-contract ... "You must be mistaken Mr Chumbles...". I told the guy he was a lying bastard because they can't go faster than 60mbps over copper wires. *Out of work hours the answering machine fielded calls, as guys in America would call during the night and when I had a day off my bosses# couldn't fuck up my day with a "quick question". I could also simply copy and charge the entire bill for my expenses... #They tried to insist that I answer, but gave up when I told them if I was always on call, they would have to pay me for that and time and a half for any resulting work...

Every single time I hear a song or see a film that reminds me powerfully of childhood, without exception it turns out to be from 1984 or 1985, even though I am assured that my actual childhood lasted longer than 12 months.

I have a Roland electronic drum kit. The kick drum stopped working a few years ago, and it's now disassembled and under a pile of junk in the garage.
Cool story etc

Drum machine: Roland Tell me more! It's an MC-303 'Groovebox' from the 1990s. I think Roland wanted to monetise their connection with the TB-303 so they created a sort of drum machine / sequencer / keyboard with the 303 name. The 303 sounds are in there but as digital samples only so you can't do a lot with them. I had plans to fix it up to a laptop with a sampler I'd bought but then a friend spilled a glass of wine on the laptop and the software / dream was lost. One of the knobs is a bit loose too.

Today's treatment... was agonizing, but not the horror show that Tuesday's Nurse (Nurse Mengele) inflicted on me... rubbing my ingrown toenails (in spite of my screaming NO at him) - the bastard whistled off-key and smiled saying "I won't be long". The pain from that lasted until yesterday midday. I'm glad to say that although I still hurt post procedures today, it's nowhere near as bad now as it was during the week. So you will understand I hope why my posts have and may be even more incoherent than usual. Gibberish. To celebrate I may even have a takeaway tonight ... Would not "Meatless" be, err, Plain Fried Rice? And Pork Fried Rice is cheaper??

I’ve had a quick walk over to the mother-out-law’s to see the boy, before returning home within the hour to await delivery of the new cooker.
I’m also waiting for Domino’s to bring my dinner.
Strangely enough, they’ve just phoned to confirm my address. This has never happened before, and we’ve never had any issues with delivery. So I’m assuming it’s a new procedure they’ve put in place.

Had all the curry for dinner. Just bought lost legacy for a tenner off eBay. Had hoped once you upgrade to ps5 version you wouldn't need the disc. But Naughty Dog/Sony aren't stupid.
Possibly House of Gucci later. But first, hopefully finishing the Dr Dre Mission in GTA and having a vimto chew.

ITV covering Boro's 1996–97 season. Bryan Robson, Ravanelli, Junhino. Emerson, 2 cup finals (lost), a 3 point deduction and relegation.
Strange times.

The Domino’s order arrives five minutes before there cooker did.
Luckily I hadn’t started tucking into the pizza, as I was tearing the house apart looking for a bottle opener to get into my bottle of Cobra.
I never did find it, ended up using a key to gradually lever it off.

So...at half time
The bad news - we're definitely second best The good news - we're only one goal down The really bad news - 75,000 football fans have just been informed that, due to technical problems (?) there is no food or drink available in the stadium at half time.
NO FOOD OR DRINK AVAILABLE AT HALF TIME.
EDIT: The really good news - Christian "The gelled tumbler" Ronaldo missed a penalty.
