I am in an unexpected funk.
I played my 'Wildcard' in the Fantasy Premier League game. I had two transfers to play but instead began looking at what I could do if I changed the whole team. Once I saw them all there it was a like an 'amygdala hijack'. I clicked 'Next' to confirm having barely thought about it at all.
I feel empty. Like the child who eats the immediate marshmallow instead of waiting for the others as reward.

I made it home. That was very unpleasant. On the plus side I have clean(er) teeth. On the much bigger downside, no doubt due to the pencil pushers in whitehall, I didn't even get a sticker for being a good boy. You could say it left a nasty taste in my mouth, boom! boom!

lazybones: what other terms for a woman do you find offensive (everyone else: please do not enumerate the more obviously offensive ones .)? I assume that my father's favourite 'bint' (picked up* when he was in the 8th Army/Jerusalem 1942-47)
*The term, not the woman, he told me  ... but then again he told me we were related to Olly Cromwell and I now believe that the closest my family got to a Cromwell was when Dad was servicing one. Err... the tank, that is.

Though maybe any term you followed 'fatuous' with would have to be offensive? (in the sense that you'd gone on the offensive - driven your tank up to Adele's house). I suppose it's because 'tart' suggests that Adele is dressing / acting in an excessively sexual way, which is deserving of scorn. And that doesn't seem fair. But then insults aren't always fair. Which I guess is what partly makes them insults ... It's a bit of a can of worms to be honest. I'm not sure I'm equipped to open it up. |
