I got the corona virus on my travels, on day 4 of my isolation. Had a wee cough and the sniffles, nothing major. Lying around doing sfa for the last 3 days has been marvellous. Last time I got the chance to do that was a really nasty virus the boy brought back from nursery about 4 years ago.

Not played any games.
TV: Signed up for the full sweep of Disney, apple, netflix etc.
Foundation, watched the whole thing, enjoyed it, it felt like it could be epic. Been so long since I read the books that I wasnt in danger of having a comparison.
The Sinner, all seasons. One goodish season, one mediocre. And the rest was pretty awful they really lose it in the last one, wtf were they thinking?
Afterlife, season 1 so far, I think he captures the bitterness and anger very well, the suicide angle is a bit much. Looking forward to the rest of it.
Power of the dog, I think I liked it. I hercule poirotd the whole thing half way through but I thought it was decent.
The shrink next door, on apple. Was ok, some funny bits. The sort of show where you end up hating every character by the end.
Started watching, suspicion, on apple. Supposed to be a thriller, mystery type thing. Exceedingly dull, not sure how they achieved this level of dullness.
Invasion, on apple. Only 15mins into it. Can't tell yet.
Basically trying to gouge apple TV before 7 day trial ends.

I stayed up til the end of the Superb Owl. It was OK but now I'm tired. 4*
No other reports of barfing so looks like we're in the clear.

Morning. Knackered from staying up to the end of the superbowl. I had a minor win on a small bet (Donald 1.5 or more sacks, Miller 0.5 or more sacks) which wiped out my losses from the rugby last week. Thus endeth my 8-day betting career. Too stressful, deleted the app, in future will simply spend the money on extra booze, a guaranteed investment.

My problem isn't barfing, but a continuous fight to get the other end to remember its function.

Hello
I don't know if this week has started well. I spent 45 minutes trying to find the Wordle word, then I took out a pair of 'chinos' that I'd bought. I couldn't accept the reality that my normal size just wasn't fitting so I bought them anyway. Today I'm living with the reality ...
When taking out the 'chinos' I upended a cardboard pouch of frankincense onto the floor (I bought it two years ago and nearly set fire to the windows so haven't used it since). Sweeping aplenty.
Other things ...
I have lots of work things to do before our holiday on Wednesday.
Also ...
I copped some grief from my sister because the PM and I are going to spend two days in a spacious self-catering apartment in the Rotunda, when visiting Birmingham in a few weeks' time, rather than stop in the cramped, single bed, my old bedroom / spare room. Man ...

Considering the list of words and the order in which they will appear as answers is predetermined and in the public domain, it may be that recent words have been harder, but it's nothing to do with the move to the NYT. I'd like to express shock that a Guardian Journalist is so badly informed about a subject (or has deliberately left out such a pertinent fact), but I'm really not that surprised. Fucking media section hacks. Keza wouldn't have made such an egregious error. Edit: Jesus, I just realised what you said about Rolling! I didn't realise he was now mixed up in the betting on Wordle as well. A slippery well-worn slope, it starts with rugby, then the Owl, and then Big Wordle Gambling sucks you in and spits you out. Poor guy, a perfectly normal failure one day, a broken wreck of a gambling addict on his uppers a fortnight later.

Whatevs I have bought Sexy Robot Dinosaurs 2I haven't finished the first. I cant remember why. I think I was paying something else when it arrived. Then it has never got to the top of the pile. TVI caved in to the evil and bought 6 months of Apple TV for free. I watched the first episode of Foundation. It's ok. For something that just works there's a hell of a lot of faffing to set up Apple TV. I had to reset my password, not because I had forgotten it, but as a security measure. No idea why. It took nearly 30 minutes ended up with 8 emails for something that I am not paying for. I have made a firm note to cancel at the end of the free period. Even if I like it. Which I will not, because I am prejudiced against Apple. FootballWe won. Scenes.

Thanks for the tips scamanderI’m going to try and add a metro, and get some overhead walkways as I’m thinking too 2 dimensional Things which help deal with traffic. Firstly there's a mod which helps improve cargo truck efficiency. Find it! Generally speaking the sims will move between residential- commercial-industry. Bear that in mind. A good idea is to have the commercial in one area, not peppered amongst the residential too much (the odd store won't be an issue). The main reason is cargo truck deliveries. The jam traffic up, so you need a clear road/infrastructure between the main highway (early on) and this area which doesn't do through residential. If you have generic industry the same rule applies. But what is even better is using warehouses. These made a huge difference. Place them between the generic industry and commercial areas. It will mean cargo trucks aren't jamming up the routes. Instead the warehouses will fill up with generic industry goods (select this option). Commercial trucks will then appear when goods are needed. I have my generic industry separate with a main road to some warehouses and then some smaller roads feeding into the commercial district. Cargo trucks rarely go through the residential areas. Buses are great early on. Don't overlap routes or place stops on the busier roads. Have them stop in residential, commercial and industrial. Keep it simple. Metros are good but only worth it when you have large areas for a single purpose (e.g. a large block purely for commercial which is a distance from the residential). The rule of public transport seems to be connecting redidential areas with commercial and industry. Less so between the same zone.

hello?
Does anyone know the UN argument for the UK giving back the Chagos Islands?
It can't just be because they're a colony, otherwise Gibraltar would need to be given back, along with Bermuda. And the USA would have to give back the land taken from the various indigenous people of North America (from a certain point of view).
My understanding is that the UK bought the Chagos Islands for Mauritius in the 1960s as some sort of independence deal, which Mauritius says was unfair, but ... the UK could have kept Mauritus, which would have left it with the same status, morally and legally as the other vestiges of ... colonial power ...

I believe the controversy is that Britain evicted everyone from the island. Shot their pet dogs as well. Then handed it over to the americans for a military base. There are a number of videos about the treatment of the islander's.

Because the UK Government did a cunt thing. It's a bad thing. I can see that. I'm just wondering about the legal aspect of it. I saw an article saying splitting the Chagos Islands off from Mauritius was illegal because it meant, when Mauritius gained independence three years later, the process of decolonisation wasn't complete. But is decolonisation required by UN law? I guess it must be. But applying it consistently must be like getting sucked into an endless vortex.

We kept the Chagos Islands at the behest of our secret American masters... I don't have a problem with that, but I do have a problem with kicking loads of folk out of their homes for the yanks to create a concrete aircraft carrier. We wouldn't do that here, would we (unless it's some white elephant project beginning with HS).
